The staff was very helpful to us when the train was delayed; I was able to call from the bus returning from Antonito to cancel our dinner reservation and order a "take-out" meal. They also helped me with the heater, which is a little finicky. The bathroom has been updated in good quality fashion, and soap/shampoo available in big containers. No "breakfast" but there's a good place in walking distance. Very convenient to the train station.

Staff would good MIA at times and you could get help when needed. Food although was good, I feel the need for some traditional foods as well. Basically food that doesn’t have special sauces and some blander choices.

The Iron Rail was a unique place to stay. The rooms are tiny, but well decorated and maintained. It was hot in the room and we slept with the windows open all night and the fan running. Thank goodness it was a rainy night, so the weather was a little cooler. The light had burned out in our room and staff was unable to change it, so it made it dark when getting dressed. There were no towels in the bathroom when we got up the next morning to shower with, but my husband found some in a closet down the hall. Overall, it was a fun experience.
