It is a beautiful property about halfway up the cliffside of Bantry Bay. The view is stunning, and the welcome was warm. There are only a handful of guest rooms. Rooms are on the smallish-side, but well laid out and thoughtfully appointed. The bed side tables have built in universal plug adapters and USB ports for charging. There is a small mini-bar in the room, and a communal pantry with additional items. Breakfast is served every morning (continental, with eggs to order), and they do offer a small number of non-breakfast items as well (didn't try them). You have a Nespresso machine and tea maker in your room, and they have additional selections in the pantry along with afternoon tea snacks and evening canapés.
The walk up to the property can be a steep one, but Ubers are readily available for those who would prefer to avoid the climb. It's a 10-15 minute walk down to the actual beach, which is where most stores, restaurants, etc are located. It's also an easy ride over to Camp's Bay or into the downtown Cape Town area for additional choices. Overall, it's a lovely property in a great location.
One note for the smell-sensitive, however. The amenities (Bulgari) are intensely perfumed, so you may want to bring your own to avoid opening them.

Fantastic hotel with staff and view to match
Compass house was absolutely fantastic. We were greeted with bubbly and a very friendly manager who explained how everything worked and then we enjoyed the brilliant room, deck and infinity pool. The service was really top notch and my only regret is that we just stayed for one night before flying home. Can't recommend highly enough

it is very small hotel (Villa) and very limited selection of breakfast. however, the best this is the sea view. So, I'm paying just for sea view.

Heaven on earth!
We were met very late by Olivier, the owner, very classy and friendly. He was waiting with champagne for us. Such a nice welcome.The property was gorgeous, our room was amazing. Top notch design, I can’t say enough. Mark,Antonio and all the staff were so friendly and accommodating. I only hope we get to come back to this amazing place. Sehr zuvorkommendes Personal. Organisiert alles wahrend des Aufenthaltes auch Ausflüge, Tischreservierungen, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Das Personal ist immer präsent und doch angenehm zurückhaltend.
Die Zimmer und Bäder sind großzügig und meist frisch renoviert. Die Betten waren sehr bequem.
Der Ausblick ist umwerfend. Der Pool ist aufgrund seiner extremen Länge sogar zum "schwimmen" geeignet.

Es bleiben keine Wünsche offen! Traumhafter Blick vom Zimmer auf den Pool und dahinter das Meer. Wundervolles Service Team rund um den Besitzer, bei voller Privatsphäre. Jeglicher Wunsch wurde uns direkt erfüllt, wir wären gerne länger geblieben.
Wenn in Kapstadt, dann nur im Compass House.

Quick stop in Cape Town
We had a short, but memorable stay in Cape Town - Lisa, Noel and the team were consummate professionals and did everything they could to help us. Airport transfers were seamless, dining recommendations spot on. The view to Robben Island was to die for.

Ein ausgezeichnet gutes Gasthaus. Überaus freundliches Personal und ein exzellentes Frühstück. Klein aber fein. Ziemlich windstill, ein idealer Ort für den Sundowner mit Aussicht auf den Ozean. Man das Gasthaus ungern für Ausflüge verlassen.

A great place in a great city!
We visited Cape Town in feb13 and stayed on and off at Compass House for a total 5 nights. Everything from the initial booking to the extended dates was no problem. We pretty much arranged everything through Compass House, i.e airport pick up and various private Guide activities. Big thank you to Maurice (at Chic Tours) making all the extra Cape Town sight seeing perfect.
We will be staying at Compass House for the next visit to Cape Town.
