Disappointed & Frustrated
This entire experience w hotels.com and Hilton has been a financial nightmare. My card was double charged, once for $406 from hotels.com and then again from Hilton for another $453 (instead of being paid for by the booking site). This was for a 2 night stay which now costed me $900 instead of the $350 it should have been. This happened because when I checked in, the front desk lady told me I had to put a card on file for incidentals (standard) and that there is a $100 hold but said it looked like that was already paid for (explaining why the original total was so high) It was not included and was charged to my card along with another $351 for the room, instead of coming from the booking site that i already paid. When i called hotels.com and Hilton to resolve the double charge, nobody could figure it out and didn't seem all that interested in trying to, like $500 extra was no big deal and everyone has that laying around.
I got the room so my daughter and her friends could have somewhere fun to get ready for prom and so I could stay closer in case they needed me but instead I spent the whole time stressing over this. When I just called to see when the money would return to my card because it did finally get refunded, they said 3-5 business days effectively leaving me with basically no money to get through the week.
To top it off, the fire alarm went off in our room (for no reason) at 6:30 am. This whole experience was a nightmare. So disappointed and frustrated.
