Nice Place for a Short Stay

Overall this motel is a good value. The price was good for the stay. They did not offer breakfast though. The room wasn’t spotless but it was clean and the beds were comfortable enough. Customer service was okay. The walk to the beach was short and there is a great place within walking distance for donuts and good coffee - Island Donuts.

Great place to stay

very clean and spacious. Great location with beach access, restaurants and gas station /convenience store minutes away on foot. The pool was clean and refreshing. I will be staying here again.

Best surprises

Looking at the other reviews I was not expecting great things and boy was I surprised! In the best way! Older buildings but freshly remodeled and updated. Very clean and an Amazing location for an unbeatable price! 10/10 would definitely stay again.

Don’t waste your money on this dump!!

Opened door to lobby for check-in, the smell of curry hit me like a ton of bricks. The lady “Sue” that checked Me in was quite rude. Didn’t smile once. No greeting upon entering. Has to wait 5 minutes for someone to even come to desk. The room smelled of mildew. Floors tacky. Mattresses were very very cheap and uncomfortable. The sheets and towels were still damp as if they did not completely dry. The carpet at bathroom door was torn up. The toilet didn’t flush very well. There was so much filth in the bottom of the door jam it was unsanitary. The only thing about this place was it had Great water pressure and great shower head. Went to check out this am, no one is there in the office. A girl that looked homeless was sitting on top of a laundry basket. There was a key drop, the girl said, her stuff was just blocking. She didn’t get up to move her stuff I had to. Never ever will I stay here again!

I requested a ground floor room on my reservation, as I was traveling with 3 children alone, including a 3 year old who is disabled, cannot walk independently without a walker or wheelchair/is not able to follow directions, etc. I was not accommodated. We were given a room on the second floor with no elevator. How am I supposed to not leave him unattended and yet carry luggage up a flight of stairs? I have to have both hands to carry him as he does not hold on. We arrived to town around 11AM, way too early to check in, which I had no expectations of doing. But I thought we could come, park, and change into our swimsuits in the hotel lobby restroom, and hang out across the street at the beach until check in. That's a no, because the lobby doors are locked. I asked if I could at least use the restroom as I had been driving for several hours, the employee rolled her eyes and sent my daughter and I into a vacant hotel room that had not yet been cleaned from its prior occupant. The room had carpet, which is a terrible idea at a beach hotel. It was clean enough to stay, and the beds were comfortable, location is decent, but will not be my first choice when returning to St Augustine. We come down at least once or twice a year.

bargain at the beach

This motel is all about location. You are across the street from the beach. The rooms are exactly as shown. They are worn but clean. The motel is family owned and run. Sue seems to run things with an iron fist.

Won’t return and don’t recommend!

Upon arriving at the office I had to ring a bell for service. While that is not terribly unusual, the response time and welcome was. It was as if I was a bother to require assistance for my check in. It was clear from the outside that this was not a high end hotel so I was not expecting that. We were simply staying one night and didn’t intend on more than a clean place to sleep and have breakfast. I found out that both needs would not be met. The bedspread was aged, the carpet was so grossly dirty that it left the bottoms of our feet black the little time we walked on it (after baths and to bed). The air conditioner could not keep up and it was merely 70 degree weather. They did not provide any form of breakfast. When I checked out and showed the bottom of my feet to the same office lady, she stated that due to people tracking in sand it was hard to keep it clean.
