The hotel staff went above and beyond helping us, even after we checked out and had to make it to the airport for a late flight. We were able to walk everywhere from the hotel, though the V&A area is a bit of a hike - took us about 25 minutes. Breakfast is delicious.

KLM fed me some poisoned breakfast on the 2nd leg of a 3-legged dog, 32 hour journey here, leaving me vomiting from both ends on the flight from AMS to CPT. This gave me the perfect excuse to do what I came here to do - absolutely nothing. I'm going into day 3 of a 4 day stay and have only left the hotel once to get anti-acid from the store down the street. I just wanted to come here to say I went to Africa. I dont want to annoy a lion or try to bury some white guilt in visiting Nelson Mandela's...

Consider your location: Hotels near the city center usually tend to be more expensive, but thanks to Cape Town's excellent public transportation, you might discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit farther out that’s still well connected. For those interested in exploring alternative, less crowded neighborhoods or even lesser-known nearby cities, you can often find great value for your money. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
