I liked Tijili Seminyak because it was close to everything, near Seminyak Beach, the shopping areas, etc., but was on a fairly quiet side street.... so everything was near, except the crowds.

The staff are brilliant. Nothing is too much trouble. The room, internet, restaurant are all excellent. We particularly like the rain shower. The location is also a plus, only 5-10 minute walk from the beach. Our only reservation is that the pool area gets very little sun, but that may be a plus for some. The hotel are happy for us to take their pool towels to the beach, which is a lovely touch. We will definitely come again.

After an initial confusion over our airport transfer which never turned up, the hotel went to great lengths to make it up to us, upgrading our room and providing transport for free on leaving. The rooms are generously proportioned and well maintained, with a wonderful rain shower, though the balcony was disappointingly small. The only other disappointment was the pool area, which did not get much sun. We cannot comment on the food as we ate out all the time; the location of the hotel being one of its best features, there are restaurants aplenty nearby, and the beach is less than ten minutes walk. We would definitely stay again.

NEVER AGAIN. The Tijili, now trading as the Liberta Suites, was closed down by the court due to bankruptcy, DURING our stay. We left early in the morning for a day of touring and when we got back mid-afternoon, we were told the hotel was closed and we had to pack our things and leave. The woman who confronted us was rude, lacking any empathy and couldn’t have been any less helpful. They completely washed their hands of the issue. How they continued to accept bookings when they’d been declared bankrupt 6 months prior is astounding. I’ve since contacted them via the email address we were hand balled to, to ask for the remaining booking to be refunded and they haven’t even had the decency to respond. BE WARNED if you book here, you’re taking a risk that you’ll be out on the street and your holiday ruined. Stay away from the Tijili brand and there’s no way I’d want to book with Liberta Suites either. The whole situation cast a very dark shadow over our Bali experience. Do yourself a favour and book at the Courtyard by Marriot down the corner instead, which is where we ended up, for a far better experience.
