Teluk Cempedak
Teluk Cempedak's crescent-shaped golden beach offers the perfect tropical escape with clear turquoise waters and swaying palms. Adventure seekers can jet ski, parasail, or catch a ride on a banana boat while the less ambitious soak up rays on the sand. The beachfront promenade lets you stroll between casual seafood spots and colorful night markets without missing a sunset. Beachside cafes serve fresh coconuts and Malaysian specialties with ocean views that can't be beat. Most visitors stay at mid-range resorts with direct beach access, though budget options exist a short walk inland. Getting around is easy—the beachfront area is walkable, with taxis readily available for trips into Kuantan city center.

Bandar Indera Mahkota
Bandar Indera Mahkota serves up a slice of genuine suburban Malaysian life with a student-friendly vibe. The neighborhood is dotted with local warungs and mamak stalls where you can feast on nasi lemak and mee goreng alongside university students. For a cultural pit stop, check out the Wan Fo Tien Temple or take a breather at one of the small parks scattered throughout the area. Budget-friendly guesthouses and serviced apartments make this area easy on the wallet. Getting around requires some planning—grab a rideshare or rent a car to explore wider Kuantan since public buses run infrequently. Morning calls to prayer and the sizzle of roadside food stalls create a sensory backdrop to your authentic Malaysian experience.

Hyatt Regency Kuantan Resort
"Nice hotel in great location, good room & bathroom. Staff are fantastic and really helpful. Food in Kampung restaurant was good, not so good in the Italian Bistro. Overall a great place to stay"
AC Hotel by Marriott Kuantan
"We stayed at AC Marriott Kuantan from 22-25 September 2026, after spending 2 days at Teluk Chempedak. Check in was very efficient and smooth and the front desk staff gave us a room early, for which we were appreciative. The room was not large but clean and comfortable. Overall, the hotel looked well maintained except for the lifts which was a bit dated. The dining area for breakfast was large. Breakfast spread was great and staff were attentive and cleared our used plates promptly. The only downside is the location. The hotel is situated next to a 6 lane busy road with virtually no amenities around. There are no convenience stores nearby. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at AC Mariott Kuantan while we explored Kuantan's old town. We will certainly stay in this hotel again if we were to visit Kuantan in future."
Swiss-Grand Beach Resort Kuantan
"We had a great experience at the hotel, the breakfast selection was great, loved the activities, beautiful beach. The bedrooms were spacious for our family of five. The kids enjoyed it tremendously. The only complaints we have were that the kids pool were closed the second day we were there, but we were still able to swim in the larger pool. And the larger pool was a little deep for shorties like me, I was not able to stand with my little one while helping him swim as it was too deep for a 5’2”. I do wish it had been less deep, but other than that, we loved our vacation!"
Mega View Hotel Kuantan
"I was on the top floor & on my first afternoon work was taking place on the roof & it drove me crazy. It was happening the following afternoon too but for a much shorter period. Everything else was really good. Nights were quiet enough Comfortable bed Good wifi Great breakfast Friendly helpful staff I'd stay again"
Zenith Kuantan
"Very good"
Adena Beach Resort
"Small pool. Good seaview"
Rocana Hotel
"Clean room. Walkable to megamall"
Timurbay Seafront Residences NatureHome
"The location is great as it is just in front of the beach. Get a sea-view room."

For those looking to explore its rich landmarks, history, and cultural attractions — including family-friendly sites, romantic spots, and charming small-town vibes — a stay of at least 1 to 2 days is ideal. During your visit, enjoy the local seafood, stroll along the river, and catch the sunrise, immersing yourself in a blend of historical and modern experiences.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: If you’re planning a trip to Kuantan, you may discover savings by visiting the Deals section on Hotels.com. For last-minute trips, head to the Last-Minute DealsOpens in a new window area, where you could find discounted hotels near your travel date. You’re more likely to see price drops by enabling alerts. Also, use the Smart Shopping tool available via the app to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you stay informed when rooms become available or prices drop.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may vary depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and time of year, so being flexible with your dates could help you save on your stay in a Kuantan hotel. For those interested in unique experiences, boutique hotels might provide a more personalized atmosphere and sometimes even a better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we'll inform you if the price for your selected dates is higher or lower than average. If the price seems on the higher side, we'll suggest more affordable dates that may help you find a better deal.
- Consider your location: Hotels near the city center usually tend to be more expensive, but thanks to Kuantan's excellent public transportation options, you might find a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that’s still well connected. For those interested in exploring different, less crowded neighborhoods or even nearby, lesser-known cities, there is often excellent value for money. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
