The view during breakfast brunch, which is included was second to none. We were spoiled everyday. The breakfast is also generous, including bacon, eggs and sausage.
The hotel has a lot of information on-site and offers the Niwalden visitor pass. We did not receive this information before our stay, and it would have been helpful to help us navigate when we arrived. If you are arriving from Lucerne train station, call a cab or Uber. It is quick and easy. We tried using transit but the buses from the train station in Hergeswil only run once an hour, so timing is difficult. Do not walk it from the train station with baggage using Google maps as your guide. It is not practical. The fastest path is uphill, with one section that is 30 degrees and with weathered asphalt.
The room we had (family suite) was clean and had an amazing view from the balcony. The only gripe would be the shower that would change temperature constantly dumping very hot scalding water at times. This happened with both showers but one was more consistent. We figured out an approach (i.e. the right temperatures and timing for the shower cycles) and made it work.
We had a great visit!
