"Nice clean bedroom. Fresh bed linen. Staff helpful and courteous."
The Dukes Head Hotel
"Friendly, helpful. Nice room. Great value"
The Fellows House Cambridge, Curio Collection by Hilton
"It was a mixed bag - mostly positives, but with a couple of inexcusable negatives. Pros: The hotel is new, nice interior decor and amenities (small but well equipped gym, narrow swimming pool but with sauna/hot tub, nicely done, laundry room in basement with free use of washer/dryer, underground carpark - a rarity in Cambridge (though at a fee), apartment style rooms with kitchen including pots/pans/plates/cutlery/microwave etc etc, decent bed and bathroom). Staff at front desk were great. Cons: One major and significant issue was the duvets were very poor, with huge lumps of filling in some pockets, while others were completely empty, leaving you with lots of cold spots. I asked for a replacement but it was the same. Clearly an issue with procurement quality, and something critical when sleeping in a new place. I caught a cold from the aircon and the unevenly insulated duvet. Second was the housekeeping staff who reeked of body odour. Not just one, but two different staff members - both male I should add - absolutely stank out my room. Third was a general issue with phones and communication. When I asked one of the housekeeping staff for a replacement duvet at 4pm, they never got back to me. I called again at 9pm, then still didn't come. Eventually someone came an hour later after a further call. Calls to room service were often left ringing for ages and not answered. Breakfast: it was 'ok' - standard full English, with pastries/bread etc, but a bit unimaginative."
Novotel Cambridge North
"The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly, and it was easy to get to."
Cambridge Belfry Hotel & Spa
"As a family we discovered this hotel when looking for somewhere to stay for my nephew’s wedding at South Farm, Royston. From start to finish the staff on reception could not have been more helpful reassuring me that all would go smoothly in terms of booking in and out individually and at different times, taxi recommendations, meal times, bedding arrangements for small grandchildren. I arrived a day earlier than my family and Naomi I believe her name is could not have been more charming, welcoming or helpful. Equally the case when Karolina later took over on reception. Whilst Emily and Helen had fewer interactions with me, they were just as professional and helpful on the 2 occasions I needed advice. The rooms were excellent: even the classic is a very good size and comfortably accommodates 2 easy chairs and a coffee table alongside a desk and chair. I’d booked a junior suite for my daughter and family as they needed extra space for their 4 year old and 18 month old: they were blown away by it! As I stayed on for a few days R and R post wedding, I was able to make sure of the leisure facilities: the pool is a good size and the sauna and steam room excellent. I couldn’t recommend highly enough."
Lamb Hotel by Greene King Inns
"Character of building maintained, whilst fully meeting customers needs."
Riverside Inn
"The room was really hot and we couldn’t adjust the temperature. The room was nicely furnished otherwise, just small. The breakfast was really good. Location on the river near the train station, great."
