I went during winter so it was cold. What's amazing is the underground streets that connects all the main train stations. During the day, I walk around above ground like any other city. At night, I walk under ground-full of restaurants & stores.

Sapporo was very clean city and the climate was similar to Boston, I believe. The people were kind and services were very good. We enjoyed visiting the Sapporo Beer Garden and the lunch there. I would like to stay longer on my next visit.

Great city with plenty to do; the snow festival especially is a very worthwhile attraction. I've only visited during the winter, with Sapporo acting as the skiing hub.

It's a nice place with no crowds... Number of people on the road everyday is just nice for us. Quiet after 730pm. It is nice walking around the neighbourhood and they have a very big shopping district underground all the way at the train station..

Sapporo is nice but the snow festival is probably not worth it as the prices of the hotel are a lot more expensive and the festival is decent but not wow. There are other festival in Hokkaido n much longer than the week long Sapporo one

Sapporo has great food so you have to try all the different foods. Sapporo station is not as big like Tokyo so easy to find what track to go to. Actually Sapporo has very fresh seafood.

It's not Tokyo but it has some interesting things to see. Transportation is okay if near a subway otherwise bus transportation is a bit difficult. Snow festival was amazing.
"First time in Sapporo with family of 4. Great location as it’s close to lots of restaurants. The rooms were very spacious as well. Also multiple convenience store like Lawson & Seico Mart around the corners. There is also a small grocery store near by and a laundry place close by to do laundry if needed.
Only down side was the temperature outside was so hot (32-42 degrees Celsius) and the AC can only set to a max of 20 degrees Celsius which was hard to sleep. Good thing the next day we asked the staff to check the AC, but there was nothing they can do and offer us a fan which helped a lot as it would help circulate the air in the room. "
"This is my best 2 nights stay in Sapporo, I got upgraded with higher levels and the room is clean and spacious (btw this hotel is the only one I noticed they have changed bed sheets and pillows cover for my 7 days family trip) and I was able to store my luggage 2 days before I checked in. Front desk is professional and friendly, btw I was able to do late check out cause wife wants to do some shopping thanks to IHG memberships. "
