The hotel has already (snarkily) responded to others who have complained about the homeless situation, stating that "all cities have homeless problems." Okay but this particular corner of Colfax and High Street is unbelievably bad. Parking on the street was super limited and you had to walk past what can only be called absolute squalor to get to the front door. Inside, the hotel is not without its charms (but is without any staff) and you'll definitely need to make use of the complimentary earplugs and eye masks they leave you in order to get any sleep. I took my earplugs out around 3 am hoping the zombie apocalypse outside would have calmed down, (which it mostly had except the occasional person screaming).
The hotel inside was pretty clean actually but unfortunately the chemical products they use are overpowering and we got out of there as fast as we could in the morning. Switch to some more eco-friendly cleaning products.
If I were the owners of this hotel, I'd be going to every City Council meeting I could and demand that Denver clean up the scene around my business. Are there no police in this town? If it sounds like I am being too harsh here, please note that I have left out some of the worst things we saw. Not just homelessness, but prostitution, drugs, public nudity, and the biggest mess on a street corner I've ever walked past.
Also the listing says, " ... all while being pampered by the top-rated helpful staff." What? There's literally nobody there!
