Beautiful hotel, GREAT location, excellent service except advertised shuttle from Tuxtla Gutierrez airport doesn’t exist. In historic district, close to everything, in the heart of the action. Presumably one of the oldest colonial buildings in the city. Nicely decorated room and bathroom, plenty of hot water, great shower head. Very comfortable bed. So grateful for the electric room heater! Of some seven rooms total, about four on first floor arranged (colonial-style) around a beautiful, inside courtyard which is the dining area, gorgeously appointed, filled with natural light. Beautiful common areas: reading room, store, back patio with potted plants. Limited but delicious breakfast included. Great staff! All very helpful, friendly. Noise from nightlife and dining area never woke us. If you’re a light sleeper, take ear plugs. The shuttle was a main reason I chose this hotel. I confirmed it by phone with hotels.com. Taxi charged a premium because it was midnight. I told the manager, showing a print out where it is promised. She said they had no shuttle. I asked for reimbursement of the difference of what I paid the taxi and what was promised. Instead, I was offered a taxi to the airport at the advertised price when I left. The hotel management and/or hotels.com need to address this and other minor discrepancies in what is promised on the website such as slippers and a bathrobe provided in the room. Makes me hesitant to use hotels.com, again.
