We were looking for a hotel at the last minute that was near the venue for our daughter's dance competition. We stumbled upon The Kelly and are so glad we did! Affordable, quaint area with unique shops and restaurants. The hotel was very nice. Our room seemed newly renovated. The only complaints we had were that parking wasn't free (but we found free parking on the street since it was the weekend), there was a little bit of someone's stay-put lipstick that stayed put on my juice glass at breakfast 😅, and the restaurant closed earlier than advertised on Google on Saturday evening, leaving us a little hungry going to bed. None of those things were deal breakers and we already booked it again for the next competition in April! Oh, and the old fashioned from the lobby bar was 👍👍

Decent but not the best
Decent stay, food wasn’t the best, the window in the room sounded like it was open although it wasn’t - the elevators seemed like they needed maintenance they were slow and I had to push the open door button whenever I got to my floor (12).. the gym wasn’t accessible looked as tho it were still being worked on .. the aesthetics of the lobby is what got me to book but it wasn’t the best.. it was decent

There was a cigarette bud in our floor so it wasn’t a good first impression when we walked through the door! The bathroom was the best part of the room.

It was a nice hotel room in an older remodeled building. No real complaints. The hotel staff were very friendly.

Great hotel- terrible valet
We had a great stay and the hotel staff was great. The valet service is SO SLOW and also wrecked our car and that was a mess. We waited 20 minutes for our car the night we were there and had reservations so my husband ended up getting it himself and found the valet outside on his phone. That company is contracted in not The Kelly employees but it was not the best experience.

It’s LOUD
Without question the loudest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. Just be aware that this old building prevents absolutely zero sound buffering from the loud streets below.

Checkin issues at Kelly
I would avoid any rooms in the older part of the building facing 1st ave. The noise from the traffic is excessive as there isnt glazing on windows. We requested a change of room...even a lesser room than the king studio we had booked....and the hotel had plenty of available rooms, but the inexperienced check-in staff said "the room has already been assigned and they cannot change anything". I asked for the manager and was told there wasnt a manager on duty. The only solution offered was that I pay for a second room ! which i refused to do. We accepted the situation and put blankets against the windows to reduce the traffic noise. When we checked out 2 days later the agent asked if we had enjoyed our stay, I explained what had happened.
She apologised and said that the check-in staff should have arranged another room and she would arrange for training for them. Unfortunately, thats all too late for me ! and a poor reflection on Hilton. Be careful if you stay at the Kelly !
I should also mention that i contacted Hotels.com, but the virtual agent was USELESS and when i finally made it to a live agent they tried but couldnt get through to the hotel (so they told me) and therefore couldn't offer any help.
