Conveniently located in proximity to 42nd St/Bryant Park upon B/D/F/M/7 trains, you could dip yourself into this 181-key, cultural landmark, historical but well-renovated hotel building and enjoy this unique experience should you not mind its small bath space. If you are lucky, popular cats called Hamlet and Machilda will greet you down at the lobby.
Service and hotel was excellent. Food and drinks is very overpriced. For example: a breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, hash browns and coffee is $55 per person. A bourbon Manhattan is $30. The hotel charges $40 per room per day which you get back in the form of a food and beverage use-it-or-lose-it credit. This encourages you to eat and drink at the hotel and pay the large food prices.
