We chose this apartment as we needed to be close to Leicester Square for an event and the price was cheaper than a family room at available hotels in that area.
The positives are the location, just round the back of Leicester Square and in easy walking distance of many London landmarks. The host was helpful; we did not meet but corresponded by email / text and he was was welcoming. He got us a second key for the apartment after I advised that my partner and I would be in and out separately which we appreciated.
The apartment was ok, was clean but a little shabby. Things like knocks and scuffs on the doors and skirting board, squashed insects on the ceiling. There was a hamper of dirty laundry (looked like sheets and towels) in the bedroom; I would have preferred this not to be there! The bathroom was clean but there was no plug for the bath and the shower was not very powerful. The bed / sofa bed were comfortable but the bed was not very big. The apartment was hot with the windows shut and noisy with them open; this is just the area through and the host had provided a fan in the room was was helpful. The wi-fi worked fine. The kitchen was clean and it was useful to have a fridge.
The negative aspect was the area; although great to be close to Leicester Square and Piccadilly the road the apartment is in, especially the back door, has a lot of homeless / druggy types around. I would not have felt safe on my own in the evening coming in.
Overall fair value for money.
