We are used to the standards of Dubai's 5* hotels, but had not stayed at a GM hotel before. The hotel's public areas, pool and restaurants did not disappoint, nor did our room - a quiet Superior King room with canal views and inclusive breakfast. Our room was impeccably clean, spacious, with a very comfortable bed, well appointed bathroom, and the A/C was perfect for us by default.
Breakfast was particularly nice, and my fussy dietary needs were met with maximum enthusiasm to please, even to the point that they sourced non-standard supplies for me from Day Two onwards. It was the same for our room - I had a list of particular preferences that they met with enthusiasm. Room service was excellent and when I was ill, they sorted me out a non-standard chicken broth and a special tea - nothing was too much trouble.
So in respect of 5* accommodation, all of our expectations were met or exceeded, leaving no room for disappointment or complaint. But where this hotel stands out from the crowd is in the warmth and undeniably genuine eagerness to please their guests and ensure that their needs are met. We are very used to hospitality professionalism, but our stay here took things to a new level, and the attention to detail in making us feel like royalty, was very noticeable.
