There is a long driveway from the road that leads to the hotel property however there are no road side signs telling you where to turn in so even with GPS it's easy to miss.

Loved our stay at the Orator. The staff were so kind. Our dinner was delivered to our room. The breakfasts were great too. The staff were so helpful, as we had left some belongings in our taxi, and they put extra effort into assisting us. As for the property itself, its beautiful. However, it does need some TLC. Apart from that, it was a lovely stay!

The entrance and reception area of the hotel was impressive but as you walked into the property, the walkways were in need of repair, the rooms were tired and the most disappointing of all was that the swimming pools were out of order and had been for some time (water was green, unlike the pictures on Expedia). The surrounding gardens were nice though and the staff were really nice and tried their best to make us welcome. The food was better than expected, with buffet breakfast included.

The property was fine we were expecting the pool to be swimmable but it was not and you can't be in Samoa with a pool not working

It should be made clear that our issue is less about the property and more to do with Expedia disingenuous advertising of its current amenities status. We understand and believe that the property owners have articulated to Expedia to update their profile accordingly, and Expedia have failed to do this. The property owners graciously gave us a full cash refund of what they received from Expedia - and I will be pursuing Expedia to return the commission they receive to me as well. I do not believe Orator was at fault, I believe Expedia was.

The place DEFINITELY DID NOT look like what was advertised online. The place as a whole looked very run down despite the fact that we saw many staff onsite. There were ants all over our room especially in the shower/bathroom area. We found a dead cockroach on the floor of our shower. It felt unsanitary to stay there and from the moment we walked through our room door, there was a foul smell that lingered for the duration of our 5 night stay.

I will say this.. the staff is the definition of Customer Service! We were treated with the utmost respect and care that is not normal from where im from, sadly. So amazing work to all staff! When we checked in we were greated with fresh orange juice and had two staff members carry all our luggage to our Villa. The room was just right for me and my family consisting of 4 others. Free breakfast everyday, I enjoyed the daily change up of the warm foods! We ordered food from the resturant and like others was not happy at all about the waiting time as being served almost an hour after ordering is "normal".. great food nonetheless! My daughter had a little mishap that required attention from staff and they attended and went above and beyond to make her feel better - even going as far as buying her a gift and giving us as a family of 5 a free lunch voucher - so damn amazing to the team for that! All in all, we enjoyed our time here. When we do visit Samoa again were set to stay again solely because of the Customer Service provided! Keep it up guys, you all are doing a great job. Thank you for having us - The Columbo Family.

So much greenery everywhere & it makes it so beautiful. I also love the walkway to the villas. Even the entrance into the hotel is beautiful. Just beautiful. They just need to work on the cleanliness of the rooms. There are insects... ants & the bedsheets need to be cleaned. If there are stains that can’t be washed out, get news ones!!!

Beautiful setting, gardens and location. Pool very nice but needs a paint & was missing a ladder in the main part to get yourself out..? not sure why. Clean and tidy, fales very comfortable, gardens and planting lovely but some things a little bit random, like the pots etc and lacked a bit of style direction. The lobby had big high tables next to the low couches, big strange. good price. the breakfast offered could be to a much better standard. Nicer presentation of food, the table was not laid out very well, it just was'nt fit for purpose and the crockery/cutlery needs updating, selection was a big average, but you pay for what you get I suppose. The staff were super friendly and helpful! We ate at other places a lot but the couple of times we got bar food it was super super yummy so good job team.

One Night Too Long in Apia
The lobby is beautifully presented as are the grounds (although they could have turned on the ceiling fans in the lobby). The carpark is pretty rough though. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. My room had both A/C and a ceiling fan but not all rooms had both, I noticed. The room did not have a key which was a bit of a worry, but they said they'd get one from the cleaning staff, but it never appeared. The water pressure in my room was great - no hot water water. Friends next door had no pressure but hot water! I had to send a fried chicken meal back to the kitchen as some pieces of chicken were poorly cooked. They offered to cook it again but did not offer to delete it from the bill. There was a curtain miss from the full-length window beside my bed. Wifi wasn't cheap either. Great pools!
