A period property with plenty of character! We stayed in one of the historic rooms which was full of charm. Breakfast was lovely, the gin bar had plenty of choice and we were well looked after by the staff. The hotel has a good choice of restaurants nearby and is in an excellent location for visits to the New Forest.

If you like a good shower, this is the place as it's one of the best I've experienced. Good location and although afternoon tea is not our thing, it looks exceptional.

Property was in the heart of the New Forest, convenient for other towns/villages/beaches we visited, forest walks close by. Room and ensuite were comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was excellent, many choices. Staff friendly and accommodating. Pub next door served excellent evening meals. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic stay
We had a wonderful stay at the Thatched Cottage Hotel. Staff really friendly on arrival, room lovely and clean with great refreshment facilities. Breakfast was delicious and great quality. While we were there we booked one of the Gin Flights which was brilliant plus we even squeezed in a cream tea in the sunny outside space. In summary a great venue with great facilities, lovely friendly staff and a great location. We'll be back!

Wonderful place.
It was just noisy Friday night from guests in other rooms.
New Forest is great! I liked Roydon Woods.
(Watch your step on sidewalks because some have a lot of livestock manure.)

Very quaint and quirky. Do not book a historic room if you have mobility issues.
Breakfast was very good, lots of choice.
The only downside was shower is a hand held attachment to mixer tap, not a shower over the bath. You had sit in the bath to use but was no problem for a few days.
Would stay again.

Not actually a cottage.
I thought I was staying in the cottage based on the main photo when there were actual rooms in a purpose built house round the back out of view which I'll knock a star off for.
Other than that, can't fault it. Really smart place, friendly staff, a really good breakfast and a nice stay

Thatched cottage
The building is a delightfully picturesque thatched cottage , well situated in the centre of Brockenhurst, close to the station and yet very quiet. There is pleasant outside space. A great deal of cachet. The management was helpful and supportive

As lovely as it looks
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Thatched Cottage. It is close enough to the forest to see the horses and walk through the luscious trees and foliage. It is also close to shops and restaurants. We walked easily from the station. Check in was easy and although we were up a flight of stairs we were helped with the luggage. Perhaps a little more attention could be given to offering assistance early as the paths are a little uneven. The room was delightful with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was pleasant and plentiful

Short Winter Break
I don't think we could have booked a better place. Myself and my husband planned a break in the New Forest with our dog and from the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble ..every staff member went out of their way to be friendly and hospitable. The hotel is ideally placed in centre of Brockenhurst. Full of history and charm but with contemporary and comfortable lodges in the garden area, whicj was really well designed. Breakfast was lovely and the evening gin bar with its extensive gin and cocktail menu was a welcome addition! Staff were happy to reccomend places locally for our evening meal and we weren't disappointed when we visited the local 'Snakecatcher'
Overall a great stay. Thankyou

Lovely cottage with friendly staff.
Really nice venue in an excellent location, very close to train station and bike hire shop, plus local pubs. Friendly staff, and nice breakfast, although they did seem to struggle with poached eggs, they were always overcooked when I, or any of the others in my group ordered them. But I have to say, they did the best scrambled egg I’ve ever had! My only other gripe would be the bathroom in the studio we were staying in, the walls need plastering, some tiles or splash back of some sort fitted around the bath, and the actual bath fitted properly. The side panel is falling out, and the silicone around the bath looks like it was done by a 5 year old!

Quaint cottage and staff were polite. The room we stayed in was nice and bright. There was a very bad damp problem in the en suite especially above the shower, not just on the ceiling but the shower sealant was all black and the bottom of the shower door had not even been cleaned of all the mould. The shower was very powerful and water hot.
Skirting of the bedroom was missing exposing the gap between floor and ceiling. Although there was radiator heating the thermostat was loose and difficult to tell which way to turn it to increase. The room felt warm but the floor, although it looked pretty, was absolutely stone cold. The windows close, paint peeling and look grubby. The curtains were badly hung and dragged on the floor so we’re dirty. There was a wardrobe which had the most ridiculous glass panels stuck to the front doors the type that would be fitting of a circus where the reflection made you look very short and twice as wide. On inside of the wardrobe door were 4 mirror tiles butted together to be a vertical rectangular shape. The bedside cabinets and sideboard have had no protection on the tops and are badly water stained.
Bed was fantastically comfy and clean.
Kettle was placed under the wall mounted tv!! Breakfast was fabulous, but the small breakfast room leads to outdoors and so when people used the door the cold came in and food cooled. Expensive b&b for what was on offer.
