Poor standards
The room was not ready at 3.00pm. I had to wait until 4.15pm and my room was along walk from reception. I was in a first floor room and there are no lifts. I went to the toilet and shut the door behind me, as always. When I returned to go one more time the door refused to open. It had locked itself. An engineer was summonsed. He fixed after about 20-minutes, but then he shut the door and it locked again. So, another 20-minutes wait for him to fix it again. Had this happened when I was inside without my mobile and with no hotel phone in the bathroom I would have been locked in all night. At circa 8.40am somebody entered my room with a master key without having been invited or been given permission to do so. Seriously? How is this possible? Do you not know which rooms are occupied? What if I had been naked? I would have been demanding a full refund after the locked toilet issue too. I am being invited to join Hyatt's membership, but if this is what Hyatt standards are I will give it a miss and stick with Hilton.

Won’t stay again.
No hot water for first two days. Extra charges not disclosed up front when property was supposed to be all inclusive. Staff not willing to accommodate when issues arose. Bathroom flooded for two days. Hot water went out again on day 5. Friends rooms had issues also, sewage backed up in one of them, horrible smell in AC in another. One couple’s room wasn’t ready for four hours after check in.

Personal de restaurante todo el tiempo de mal humor, en la habitación no salía agua caliente y en tres ocaciones se fue la luz, la reparaban y en minutos se volvía a ir y la última vez fue a las 2am hasta que nos dieron otra habitación para dormir pero olía demasiado a humedad toda la habitación y la cama también. Anteriormente me hospedé en secrets Huatulco y por eso decidí hospedarme de nuevo en su cadena, pero nada que ver. La comida pésima en especial el desayuno, la comida de mala calidad, áreas sucias, poca variedad, el servicio lento y poco amable, con sus excepciones. En ningún momento me ofrecieron “habitación preferencial” y fue incomodo el ser excluido de zonas preferenciales dentro del hotel, como restaurantes. Dos días seguidos dure esperando 3 horas una toalla para la alberca, porque no había, 1 hora esperando un servicio al cuarto, la habitación es vieja.

Severely Understaffed / Being a preferred guest gets no perks except access to one restaurant / Rooms are hit or miss, we came with 4 couples so we had 4 preferred suites. 2 rooms the A/C barely worked, and 1 room flooded. / They charged excursions and wine package to one of our rooms that we didnt do and continued to argue that we did but never could show the paper we "apparently" signed. We had a great time "In Downtown Cozumel" but the hotel was a dissapointment.

The resort is older. Room was huge. Everything met my expectations. Maintenance is an issue. Should not see wires on any of the pool lights and I saw three different pool lights not seated properly and wires were exposed. There was also a crocodile on the beach and the hotel staff did not appear too concerned about it. No warning signs, caution tape, etc.
