Best avoided unless you are a large group
This hotel specialises in hosting large groups such as sports teams for a budget price. Therefore it is very noisy and the noise seems to echo throughout the hotel. The restaurant provision is fine for breakfast but the buffet dinner is very poor. The hotel is about 20 minutes walk from the beach and main town - up a quite steep hill on the way back. The staff are helpful and friendly but the hotel is best avoided unless you are a large group.

Awful place
Terrible place No facilities not even to get drink or anything to eat. Restaurant shut at 9pm. Good looked awful so never ate dinner. Bar states open 12-8 nothing Staff very unfriendly & unhelpful When we asked where we could get cup of tea we were told at bar up the road. Swimming pool rail breaking & step missing Rooms small and out dated Nobody wanted to help or be friendly towards paying guests. Terrible place would never recommend to anyone Safe information more expensive then on information given to us. Wifi not great Told one price for breakfast at reception and another in breakfast room Staff don't understand much English and are extremely unhelpful.

NEVER AGAIN
The hotel is located at the top of an extremely steep hill, to get anywhere near the town centre you have go down around 5 steep hills which is okay until you have to mount them on your return back. When entering the hotel instantly you was hit with a 'fish' smell which odoured the whole hotel out leaving a very unpleasant smell at all times- cause of the problem was potentially the near mouldy fish tank located in the reception. After we went to our room our balcony view was a metal stair well which wasn't the most pleasant of views but nothing that raised that much of an issue. The beds wasn't the comfiest but they we're acceptable for the prices we paid along with the bathroom. After a while we realised our balcony door was broken and our balcony lead onto another balcony, after informing reception they told us there was nothing they could do about it so we had to ensure we carried all of our valuables with us at all times as our room was NOT safe. Secondly after an attempted break in to our room from the hotel door we also had to ensure that our room was constantly locked with the keys as we had another guest attempt to get into our room, we informed the reception and security who again told us there was nothing they could do, we asked for a room change as we didn't feel safe being 2 young girls and they replied with there is no availability. Also another annoyance of the hotel is there is only 1 just-about working lift that only holds 2 people on a rather big hotel.

Cheap and cheerful
Hotel was very old and dated, with very basic fixings. Nowhere near the centre up a massive hill. Could not fault the friendlyness of the staff.

Cheap hotel, helpful staff
The room we had was very tired and a bit run down. We paid a very cheap price so the hotel was what I was expecting. The staff were very helpful and nice people, the communal areas were all kept clean. Food at the hotel was also cheap and buffet style so good value for money and adequate choice.

Not a 2 star hotel.
The hotel is up a steep hill, so if you have a problem walking back up, then this is not for you. On last day as we were leaving, hot water stopped for the whole hotel. If you go with a group of family and choose dinner option, you need to make sure the staff in the restaurant are notified daily for tables to be put together. Remember to read the card in wc to put dirty towels in the shower to be changed, otherwise they will ignore them, even if you put on floor. You have to ask house keeping for soap and shampoo otherwise they do not replace what you use. The bar for coffee is closed at night. No phone in the room. You need pay a deposit for the TV remote control. The decor in the rooms are 70's/80's. The people working in reception were helpful, but they work long hours and are a bit stressed with all the little things wrong with the hotel. Not 1 day went by without complaints being made by guests during our visit. The restaurant workers were really good except the older anger with glasses. If you confront him that tables are not done, then he gets upset you had to have him do his job. If you leave any thing sweet in your room, then it is covered with ants shortly. Be prepared to pay upon arrival for check-in. No kettles for tea or coffee in room. The food on some days for dinner were cooked until dry, and some food were from cans. Salad lettuce was fresh daily. You cannot bring purchased drinks or food to areas within the hotel.

It's ok
The hotel facilities and condition is what you'd expect for a 2 star hotel, simple but not too bad. The room was not clean, but the cleaning after we arrived wasn't great. Also, there was no Wifi in the rooms, just 30min in a common room, and it was very slow. Further, we had to ask for shampoo every single day, none was left in our room, only the first day. And what was maybe even worse was the breakfast, there was a good selection, but the quality of everything was really poor.

Good time at this hotel.
We've been there with my girlfriend for holiday. Hotel personal was very helpful. Room was clean but there was a lot of small insects at bathroom. Food was good. The worst thing on this hotel was Internet. The free connection was poor and the premium costs 6 Eur per day.

Hotel with basic amenities.
Stayed in a single room on 6th floor.Very small room with 2 single beds but adequate for 1 person.Had a view of the ocean which was a big plus point.Felt quite cold on the first night of stay. The room was cold as probably it was an extension and no other floor above.Bathroom ok.Walls btwn the rooms are thin and voices could b heard from next room.Room did get cleaned everyday and found bed was made on return which was nice. Breakfast, same menu everyday. However more variety for dinner, good fish preparations. Ok if someone is after a quiet stay.

Nice hotel, superior over the expected ** hotel and price. Good and nice room with balcony, staff is very friendly, breakfast was sufficient for the rest of the day, internet is not included, I paid 25 euro per a week extra using Paypal. No special bar, drinks could be bought from reception.

An Excellent Budget Holiday
The hotel room was fairly basic and there were some problems with the plumbing. But it was perfectly comfortable and was good value for money. It was in a quiet part of the town and there was no unacceptable noise either from outside or inside the hotel. The staff were friendly and efficient and the breakfasts were copious. We had a little difficulty finding the hotel on arrival, but once we had got the hang of it , it was easily accessible from the motorway and parking was never a problem (which we felt was a big advantage compared to some hotels nearer the centre where parking was diabolical). It was within walking distance of the town centre but the return journey is strenuous..... We became very attached to the view from our balcony.

It worths it's price, pretty well choice
5 years before I've spent 9 or 10 nights with my family at this hotel. Staff was polite, breakfast was really good choice, so now I didn't want to spend my family's holiday in an other hotel. This way, I have no doubt, where I will book accomodation this spring again. It seems that was a good decision.

Budget Hotel
Tiny room .Very musty smelling wardrobe wouldn't hang your clothes in it. noisy metal headboards and water pipes.Food was warm not hot and boring both breakfast and evening meals.Reception staff were good and so were the waiters. No proper car parking you had to park outside on the road if you could find a space.Hotel is on a narrow road at a dead end on a steep Hill as is most of Tenerife.

You get what you pay for
My friend and I spent 9 nights at Hotel Acuario. We got a very good price for the time of year, but the hotel was dead so I'm assuming it was doing quite badly in the recession. We visited at a bad time as the hotel was doing maintenance in the main building (luckily our room was in the second building), this made accessing the lounge and getting onto the internet difficult. We also happened to visit during the world cup and were staying there during the night Spain got through to the finals. Needless to say we didn't sleep much that night because our room was located on a road with lots of people living on who made a racket well into the night (not only after the football too). There was also a guy who owned a flock of birds living in a room opposite us, and due to lack of air conditioning we were forced to listen to these birds in the morning since the window and balcony door had to stay open. The room itself was tiny, barely room to move off of the beds, but we got what we paid for a suppose. The food was good most nights, not as much selection as there was last year, and the staff are incredible. There's one particular old Spanish waiter who is hillarious, he has been there for both of our visits and it wouldn't be the same place without him! The reception staff also went to a lot of trouble to help us with an issue with transport on our last day too. Overall I think it's a good hotel and would stay again, I think I'm growing attached to the place after staying twice now!

The rooms are very small but the hotel is very good for the price with friendly staff.
We liked our stay ( 24 nights ) at this hotel because the people working there were very friendly and the hotel is located pretty well according to us. Me and my wife can without doubt get back to this hotel if we are going to Porto de la Cruz again.

Staff helpful, let down by small
Staff helpful, let down by small run-down rooms with very narrow beds, noisy due to either street sound (residents across street played deafining music) or chairs being moved around on tiled floors above. Breakfast extensive but on closer inspection of poor quality. Would not consider staying there again.
