When we checked in the desk attendant was incredibly sweet and kind. She made us feel like she was doing something special for us- even talking to the manager, giving another attendant some money from the drawer to “set up our room special for us” and talking and carrying on for almost 20 minutes.
I’m not sure what I was expecting…but it wasn’t a room that was about 4 feet wider than the bed, a set of stairs (which I tripped over the first night) to the locked balcony (that you needed a key for), and a completely blocked view because of the balcony. Our bathroom door never stayed slid closed (which caused some embarrassment). We had waters in our room the first night, but that was it (even though the first ones were gone). There was an umbrella provided.
There was breakfast included in our stay, but we were made to feel cheap for using it at both sit down locations (where I had to pay an extra charge instead of just using the free grab and go).
Our room key didn’t work the second night and we had a very long wait since there was only one desk attendant on at that time.
The cosmetics of the hotel appear to under construction -though we didn’t see or hear any construction activity.
The location is ideal, but I don’t think I’d go back. The bed wasn’t very comfortable and I still don’t understand what the whole getting our room set up for us situation was…it felt a little like we were getting laughed at since there was absolutely nothing great about our room.
