Noisy heating = sleepless nights
We stayed 2 nights; sleeping in 2 different rooms on different floors and still heard heating droning on and off waking us up several times each night. You could even hear it droning in the restaurant. Probably just a pump needing fixing and a real shame as the hotel is lovely and only 3 mins walk from the Royal Albert Hall. The bar is cosy and the pre-show meal was speedily served and very nice.

Another good stay
Another good stay, we originally started staying here for the location (very close to the Albert Hall) but now choose this when we come to London
Great friendly service, and the hotel has a lot of character - its not a modern hotel so expect a few quirks and small rooms, but the decor is nice and fitting with the period
Room was hot this time, but we could open a window to get some fresh air.

Trading in position alone
Check in fine, polite and friendly. Room supposed to be best in the hotel was indeed unique, but the additional bed was made up and the room was cold. Food in the bar took an ages to arrive, we had to ask where it was, and when it did come it was lukewarm. When we arrived back at the hotel after attending the Christmas carol concert at the Royal Albert Hall, the staff member who we asked if our pre-booked table was ready rather dismissively shrugged his shoulders and said "it might ready"! Not sure they have their priorities right when it comes to hotel guests!! Also, be prepared for a hefty service charge on top of the room rate, robbery and I'm still not sure what it was for or why we even paid it. We'd only ever book here again, if we were short of options

Good location
Good location for the royal Albert hall. Stay was let down by house keeping, didn’t service the room at a normal time, turned up at 4:30 pm when we were getting ready to head out. At check out they tried to
Add an additional £25 service charge (advised it’s for the staff) which we didn’t pay as we hadn’t received any.

A mixed bag.
The staff were excellent, however I wasn’t aware that there would be a £25 per night accommodation service charge until I checked in. I’ve never heard of this in any hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Also a service charge of £10 on the ‘free’ breakfast. The bed was uncomfortable and the bathroom plumbing questionable. The restaurant was very good and location was excellent for the Royal Albert Hall.

Too expensive for no heat
It was. Mediocre, the hotel was gorgeous. It was beautiful and the staff were lovely however it was all ruined with our room. We were upgraded to a delux double which was nice. However the heater didnt work and the aircon unit we had built into the window which said it had a heat setting also didnt work so we were absolutely freezing cold the entire time. We paid an extortionate amount of money to freeze and on top of that pay an extra accomidation fee when we left? We didnt use any of their extra accommodations. Only the room and it was barely livable due to how cold it was

Wonderful stay, friendly welcome, great location
A friendly welcome and some lovely surprises for my husband’s 50th, The team were all lovely and couldn’t have done anymore to make our stay better. The room was fabulous as was the breakfast. Service fantastic and with a smile. Will definitely stay again and would highly recommend. Loved the period quintessentially English hotel. The location was great, just a short walk from natural history museum in Kensington and 10 minute walk from South Kensington tube station.
