One of my favorite Japanese cities (definitely never a Tokyo or Osaka), it's always charming and bustling yet not overly crowded, food culture also vibrant, weather is nice, for those who're tired or overwhelmed by the more popular touristy cities!

We got familiar with the transport system and visited Ohori Park, Fukuoka City Museum, and Fukuoka Castle. We began and finished our Japanese trip in Fukuoka and were so pleased we did. It gave us an insight into Japanese culture and its beauty.

The airport is just two subway stations away from Hakata Railway Station and just five subway stations away from Tenjin, the city center. Transportation in cities in Japan is not more convenient than Fukuoka.

Easy to get around, some cities have different transportation systems and rules regarding use of IC cards etc but overall less busy and chaotic than Osaka and Tokyo and great local culture and cuisines.
