Appleby Castle

10/10 Excellent
"It was an amazing experience to be in a real castle we chose a cheaper room so we didn’t have an en-suite but a beautiful bathroom in the corridor instead. The owners were so helpful and friendly and we had a very good quality evening meal with beautiful romantic piano music played by the manager and a history talk too. The owner was a beautiful lady who chatted to us in the bar area. We’d like to go again. Breakfast was good."

The hotel was full of character with lots of quirky rooms in the public areas, much more interesting than a modern featureless block.
