Be warned of deceptive description and photo. This is not a "beach property" nor is the "view from the property" photo an actual view from the property. The property is in a residential part of town, 15 minutes walk to the beach.
Once we got over the location shock we settled in and had a great week, but Port Douglas was doing the heavy lifting on that one. The pool was a highlight of the place, once we got the leaves out of it and cleared the clogged skimmer basket.
This property is severely showing its age. No sign of maintenance in its decade and a bit of existence. There are burnt out light bulbs in every room, holes in walls and doors, water damaged gyprock, and we had to lean the shower head against the wall so it didn't fall forward and be unusable.
It wouldn't take much to get this property back up to scratch and a more accurate representation on the website. Once this is done, the place is excellent value at around $200 a night.
