Location is perfect. Walking distance to everything but away from the craziness. Staff: 10+/10 AMAZING, friendly, perfect staff. (Thank you for an amazing stay, and being so friendly and welcoming to our son) Room size is huge compared to hotels not only In Japan, but around the world. The reviews talk about the outdated and older rooms and amenities, but it doesn’t matter because everything is so well clean and kept. Onsen is great, and even allow tattoos! We will definitely be back to Kawaguchi and this hotel!

Touring Mount Fuji

We were made welcome on our arrival. The view of Mt Fuji from our room was spectacular. The room was large with separate eating and sitting area and a small kitchen. The beds were comfy. The only down points that the shower flow was rather weak and the general hotel decor was rather tired. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it and its location .

6/10 Good

If you're looking for a quiet place to unwind and unplug, this hotel might be just what you need. It’s definitely on the older side—think vintage charm rather than modern luxury. The decor and amenities are outdated, but there's an authenticity to the place that gives it character. The price is fair for what you get, and while there’s not much to do in the immediate area, that kind of adds to the appeal if your goal is to rest and recharge. Don’t expect a packed itinerary—this is more of a slow-down-and-breathe kind of stay. Overall, it’s a decent choice for those who value peace and a bit of old-school charm over flashy upgrades.

Needs some TLC. Clean but outdated hotel. Big room, no microwave in room.

2/10 Poor

Paula, 1-night trip

4/10 Fair

The bathroom has a different smell. The tatami room was huge but the bedding and especially the pillow have stain and not enough sheet to cover them. The 2 beds were actually like a single bed so if you have a child sleeping with you it will not be enough space. The cooling AC is not strong enough to handle the big room. The breakfast is affordable for a set meal but it is just an egg, sausage, salad and a croissant with a choice of juice or coffee. The room has a nice view of Mt Fuji.
janelle, 3-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Amazing location right on the front of Lake Kawaguchi. Our room had an amazing view of the lake and was walking distance to dining options, transportation, and convenience stores. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The hotel was a little older than other hotels I’ve stayed at during my stay in Japan but it was still clean. The rooms were spacious and even included a living area! Great for large groups traveling. Overall I highly recommend and most definitely will stay here again!

Hotel tradicional agradable
