I rated this stay as five-star because there were no showstopper issues. On the negative side, our view was a lumber yard that started work at 7AM. No big deal, but the potential is there if you like to sleep in. Some of the seating in the breakfast area was filthy with wet stains on the fabric material. Despite that, we chose to sit in that area. on the positive side, this was a Hampton at a bargain off-season price. The breakfast was delicious with about all the selections you could want. The coffee in all locations including the room was outstanding: hot and delicious. The pool and hot tub were in excellent condition. The pool was even tolerable temperature wise due to our extended summer conditions. I did wait until 7PM for maximum temperature without direct sunlight. A USA Today could be found in the Lobby, but it was on a lower shelf. (Maybe it belongs in the trash, but I like keeping up with the opposition.) All the staff that we ran into were pleasant, helpful, and accommodating.
Bottom line, we plan another stay in the next few months. Port Aransas seems to be a good get away location for us. I am looking forward to exploring the nearby beach.
