Ok for the price. Be careful of the pool.
It was an ok place to stay for the night. The sheets were not changed prior to our arrival. The fridge was not level and would fall over every time we opened it. And the pool was extremely chlorinated to where our swim suits had changed completely different colors and unfortunately my kids were in pain after. They had taken showers immediately after to rinse it off. The front desk did inform us later they closed the pool to try to fix the situation. My one son was too scared to go back in and my other was reluctant tho tried. After 10 minutes he was in pain and had to get out. Breakfast was ok and stuff were extremely nice. Other than the pool the price was right for what we got. Loved being next to the train tracks

Needs to do better
I booked a room at Country Inn and Suites because my family was going to enjoy Kings Dominion's Winter Fest and bring in the new year. The room was booked several days in advance. Unfortunately, we did not get to stay. As I rolled in on my knee scooter with a cast on my foot and begin the check in process, the receptionist waits to inform me that the elevator was out of service and we would have to take the stairs (to our room on the 3rd floor). HOW was I supposed to climb 3 fights of stairs in a cast??? I couldn't believe I had to point out the obvious of what was seen when I entered the hotel - I had mobility issues. Then she proceeds to tell me that there is no other room available. So I asked for a refund. Her mouth said okay; however, she didn't move, except to start typing on her phone. I began checking the 2 hotels next door. Apparently, she looked up one because she told me they were full as well. She still hadn't processed my refund. Finally, I found a room at the other one and asked about my refund. She told me she hadn't processed it in case the other hotel didn't have a room. Even if they didn't, my situation still had not changed - I was unable to go up the stairs. So finally she processed the refund and immediately was back on her phone on a private call as I signed the paper. At rate, a simple email about the elevator could have helped avoid this awful experience.

Not bad for what we paid
The room wont bad but all the mirrors were dirty and only half a roll of toilet paper but the pool was terrible my partner and i were only in the pool for 15 minutes and the water bleached our clothes the chlorine was so strong we had to open a window to keep from passing out

Before the stay, I called regarding early check-in and was told to arrive around 1:30 p.m. When I arrived at 1:30 p.m., the associate advised me of a $25 fee or to wait until 3:00 p.m. I left and returned at 3:00 p.m. The entry light was not working, the tub drain stopper was on the tub, and hairs were left on the bathroom floor.

It is what it is.
Its a hotel across from Kings Dominion good for a visit on business travel. Sheets were new. Bathroom was fine-ish. Carpet felt fairly dirty and I wore my shoes all the time. Its exactly what you expect for the money. No more, no less.

Pretty good experience.
The hotel itself was great. No complaints. I noticed ear plugs at the bedside and thought nothing of it until I was woken up every night around 3am-4am by a freight train blowing by my window about 50 feet away. If you stay here ask for a room on the front side of the hotel.

Shocking
I find it appalling that a property bearing the Radisson name could be so run down. For starters, the bathroom door was stuck half open. Couldn't be closed without a lot of effort. Curtains were ripped and the desk chair ready for the garbage. Noise level in the building was ridiculous. The railroad crossing nearby was the high point of my stay.

The guy at the front desk was really Nice. However, my room tub was stopped up. Also, it was a few hairs in the tub, so the bathroom wasn't properly cleaned.

Beware- moldy hotel for the State Fair
The room was covered in mold & stink bugs. There was mold on the ceiling, & on furniture. I had to sleep- the little I slept, with the sheet covering my nose. We were told there weren’t any other rooms. We stayed there every year from 2015 through 2022 and had to miss the fair last year. We checked out the next day and were supposed to stay another night. It was prepaid & we weren’t offered a refund when we checked out- even when I told the lady at the front desk. Will never stay there again!

Clean lobby. Everything else spelled funky. The drawers in the bedroom did not stay closed. There’s a train behind the building, which could be quite loud. The doors are not very thick. You could hear everything in the hallway. Someone banged on our door at 10 something in the morning, and was running. Didn’t feel safe to leave the room at that time Then an hour before check-out, we hear more knocking and see a child through the peep hole. It was the housekeeper’s kid. Kid knocked on the door multiple to times.

Don't waste your money
Location is literally the only reason to pay more than $50/night for this hotel (proximity to Kings Dominion). Otherwise, this is a 1 star, 3/10 hotel at best. Negatives - This property has terrible maintenance! There is a train track literally right behind the hotel 20 yards from the beds. The train conductor blew the whistle coming through town at midnight last night. It's so loud, the hotel offers ear plugs in the rooms. Coffee was weak, breakfast was middling at best, and the "fitness room" is a treadmill, elliptical, and Bowflex type machine. The check in hostess was probably the least welcoming hotel check in person I've ever seen. The hallway and stairwell carpets throughout are dirty, have huge stains everywhere, and haven't been vacuumed in several days at least. The hallway wall drywall is crumbling in multiple obvious places and walls are moldy in places are other people have noted. The shower in our suite didn't drain, so I got to stand in ankle deep water for a 5 minute shower. Neither telephone in our room worked to call the front desk or other room. The mini fridges have either a miniscule or missing freezer. It is very obvious they took an older hotel and tried to slap some lipstick on it but did a poor job. The finish work in the bedrooms/bathrooms is mediocre at best. The caulk job alone on the shower looks like my 5 year old did it. There is no handicap accessible ramp right in front of the entrance.
