I haves stayed here regularly over the last 2yrs on business and the staff have made it feel like a second home. Andra and Yulia are brilliant. I tend not to leave reviews but this hotel is so good that I felt the need to let others know. If you are in Chelmsford overnight make this your go to hotel

Hotel and staff were excellent, room was clean. We stayed here because we were going to watch England ladies cricket team play the West Indies, the hotel was only 4 mins away from the cricket ground by car. My only disappointment was I payed £180 for the night and then they charge you £9 to park your car for the night.

The receptionist was very welcoming and explained the process. She left me with a packed breakfast to pick up in the morning when I realised I would miss breakfast because of where I needed to be before it was time for breakfast to be served. We enjoyed a family celebration weekend with the staff being very helpful. The meal was well prepared, hot and tasty served by the restaurant staff efficiently. The room was clean and spotless. We had a great stay, thank you staff of The County Hotel.

Great location within walking distance of train station and city centre. Bar was nice. Breakfast had a big selection of tasty food. Staff very friendly. Parking on site for addee charge. Room was clean and tidy. Nice and quiet so slept well.

I'd booked the cheapest room, but still £100 per night. I was a small single. Shower / toilet room was really compact and desk wasn't fit for anything other than making tea (in fact the tea tray was fixed onto it taking half the space up). On the plus side, fixtures and fittings were new and clean, the hotel was well appointed and great central location. I just don't think that spec of room quite justified the price.
