I did a lot of research before booking and this resort exceeded my expectations! We stayed 7 days in late April and were upgraded to the exclusive Sun Club for free through Expedia—this really made the trip. Sun Club perks included a child-free exclusive pool and beach area, a private lounge with snacks, room service, and an exclusive buffet with no wait times. It was quiet, relaxing, and perfect for couples.
Service was excellent, staff were friendly, and housekeeping was great. Wi-Fi worked well, and the resort app (used for reservations and room service) was surprisingly convenient. The mini bar was a nice touch.
Food was delicious with lots of variety. We especially loved Chopsticks for hibachi—no extra charge and unlimited reservations! Drinks were also great and widely available.
We didn’t leave the resort, but it’s located along a strip of other resorts and the surrounding area didn’t feel very safe, so caution is advised.
Minor downsides: the beach had a lot of sea moss (though they tried to clean it), and there was limited shade at both beach and pool.
As for airport transportation, Uber works (don't listen to them if they say its "unsafe" or bad, they want you to take a taxi) —don’t pay more than $25 USD between the airport and this resort. The resort might provide transportation though I'm not sure, we didn't use it.
Overall, this trip was a fantastic value. Consider upgrading to Sun Club 100%. We'd absolutely return if visiting Punta Cana again!
