Cheap but not cheerful
Quite well located, but this hotel is clearly past its prime and so I can't recommend. To start off with, the check-in desk is on the first floor not the ground floor, and you can't walk or use the escalator to get there, as it was all blocked off. Judging by other reviews, the escalator has been broken for a period of time without being fixed- a clear analogy to the rest of the hotel unfortunately. The staff were quite friendly, but unfortunately didn't speak english very well. I realise I am in a foreign country of course, but your front office staff should be able to speak good enough english for those who don't speak cantonese or mandarin. The room itself was OK, but the a/c was stuck at a too cold temperature the entire time. My friend in another room noted his a/c was also stuck, but at a too high a temperature! The hotel (in the name of being green) noted that they would not refresh your towels unless you put them in the bathtub. I had no bathtub, so didn't get them refreshed! You also don't get ANY cleaning of your room unless you explicitly call room service every time- a pain. Overall, this hotel wasn't great, and I can't really recommend.

The Metropark Kowloon standard Queen Room for 7 nights was good value for money. Nothing flash: rooms were a bit old as is the hotel and no noise from outside ‘chaos’yet noise heard from banging doors from time to time. We’d rate this a 3 star hotel. If you’re looking for a nice bed at night, great AC, close to Mongkok East MTR and close to a vibrant night life: you are in the right place. TIP: we used the MTR and Bus network extensively: super super cheap & 10/10 on every level: taxis expensive in HK: avoid. In summary, for <$140 nightly this hotel is a bargain: PS: their room fridge is excellent: keeps things nice & cold! unlike other places. A final TIP: a MUST DO: take the 2a bus from Argyle St, around the corner and go 5 stops: just a minutes walk is Oi Man Restaurant: best food in HK!!!

This hotel is our first choice whenever we visit Hong Kong. The staff are always helpful and efficient. Their check-in process is quick and easy. The room service staff are very helpful in cleaning up the room and exchanging towels (on request). We particularly appreciate the shuttle service between the hotel and Longham Plaza, which facilitates our shopping experience and catching the subway to other parts of Hong Kong.

The hallways lobby’s and building is very old and carpet is dirty. Busy elevators always very crowded. Poor Air conditioning in elevator and waiting areas and hallways. Check in area still has plastic glass to block the staff like Covid time. They clean the room every four days. Room seems clean though. Roof top pool and gym is ok. But this hotel needs a complete make over!!! For the value, our rate in August was $100 per night, I give it a 3 stars but everything else really not up to standard.
