We stayed in the old part of what used to be the Sydney GPO, now the Fullerton Hotel. The room was large with pleasant decor, lovely high ceilings and a view out to Martin Place. The bed was comfortable but because it was very big, and because of the shape of the room, there was not much space on either side of the bed. The bathroom was clean and worked well, apart from the toiletries dispenser bottles which were mounted above my head height on the wall in the shower, and for someone with small arthritic hands were very difficult to use! The doorknobs on the heavy outer door were also difficult to use, to open the door from inside or outside, for the same reason. The breakfasts were good and we had a very good meal in the restaurant on Level 1 of the Hotel. The location was excellent for attending a concert at the City Recital Hall, comfortable walking distance for shopping in the CBD, and for visiting the State Library, Art Gallery and Botanic Gardens.
