Hotel Bijou is the Best
Hotel Bijou, is excellent. It is a beautiful and well maintained facility. I especially appreciated the night staff who checked me in and took care of my needs on 12-16-24. I think his name was Paju and I apologize for misspelling his name. I am planning to return and continue to use this Hotel in the future.

Parking is Falsely Advertised
Pros: The hotel itself was nice for the price. It was clean and the art deco style gave it a picturesque feel. The beds were comfortable and the room had a smart TV which was a nice surprise. The staff were kind and held our luggage for most of the day of check-in. Cons: THERE IS NO PARKING AVAILABLE. This was falsely advertised. You have to either park on the street (in a sketchy area) or pay for an overnight garage. The area is surrounded by drug dealers, prostitutes, and a large homeless population. If you don’t mind dealing with those things, go for it. Also, the room was smaller than expected, but probably average for a city like SF. Overall, I had a good experience at this hotel, but I wouldn’t stay there again unless it was the only decent option, mainly because of the location.

Convenient and friendly
A great stay. All the staff were friendly and helpful, and both the public area and the room were clean and pleasant. It's in a very convenient location for both Bart & muni, with some good choices to eat nearby. It is in the middle of the city, so you will get street noise, but the hotel thoughtfully provided earplugs and it was usually quiet by eleven and didn't start getting noisy until about eight.

Wonderful hotel, horrible locale environment
The hotel seems to have been renovated completely sometime recently and the work was done very well. The hotel we did like alot. The problem is the area. It is near the seedy end of the tenderloin and the noise all night made sleeping very difficult. LOUD partying on the streets, extreme noise from either construction type activities....all contributed to a very bad night. The ned was very comfy, room was excellent, staff fine, downstairs area where people congregate....ALL excellent. We would have loved to give it at least a 4 or 5 but for the noise outside.

Comfortable Stay
Stay was comfortable. The area is full of homeless people which although we felt perfectly safe did lead to a lot of noise outside the hotel and a constant smell of weed. Some better sound proofing of windows could help. Beds comfortable and good amenities in shower. Breakfast was poor and limited. Having some bread and jam would of made it better and more appealing to those with dietary requirements.

New remodeled, still needs work though
The people who work there are nice. The area is a block and a half from very posh stores, but there are street people camped 6 feet from the front door. The area has a lot of homeless and drug users, but the nicer hotels also have to live with this situation as well. Our room issues... 1.no AC but appreciated the fan.Which also was used as white noise.2.The breakfast was barely continental-few yogurts,muffins,apples,bananas&water/tea/coffee so don't expect much.3.The noise on the street is loud and the windows are not thick enough to drown out the sound.4.Our safe did not work.5.There was a loud clicking sound from the bathroom that went on the 3 nights we were in our room. This was the electrical outlet continuously tripping-EVERY MINUTE FOR 3 DAYS&NIGHTS. We had to keep the door closed in order to sleep.6.The TV was very finicky and slow to change channels.7.The shower curtain was very damaged at the gromets on the bar. This should have been replaced by someone in housekeeping without someone complaining about it.8.We didn't want housekeeping and managed garbage/towel replacement with the housekeeper in the hall. However, we were notified that they were not going to clean our room anyway since we were not leaving.I know this is a policy some hotels have adopted since covid. It would have been nice to be told that at the beginning of our stay. After the first night of clicking sound, they did offer us to relocate however we already had unpacked. They offered us nothing as comp.

A pleasant hotel in a not-so-pleasant location.
The hotel looks very nice from the entryway through the lobby, bar, and breakfast area; likewise the hallways and our room and bathroom. The room was small. Unfortunately the hotel is located in an area frequented by homeless and/or street people, who are noisy until late at night. The hotel provides ear plugs and a white noise device, but the area can be unsettling. It's a short and level walk from the Powell/Market BART station, so no need to tug luggage uphill.

Misleading
The staff here are fantastic; they genuinely try their best to help and make you feel comfortable. However, the rooms are quite small, and the lack of air conditioning made the heat unbearable. The fan provided was incredibly loud—honestly, the loudest I’ve ever heard—yet it was still better than the noise outside the hotel that went on until 4 AM. We dealt with loud music, shouting, and police sirens throughout the night. Unfortunately, the mattress was so uncomfortable that my husband opted to sleep on the floor instead. While the sheets were clean, they had a strong smell of bleach, which was off-putting. Additionally, the pictures showcasing a nice restaurant and bar are quite misleading, as those amenities are no longer available. It felt a bit deceiving.
