This stay at the salamander was a little less than my expectations. The one thing that made things better were the managers, they were on top of everything. Although there were some things subpar the managers professionalism and troubleshooting for resolutions made it almost effortless. I would like to say thank you to Joe, the housekeeping manager, he was very kind and understanding. The restaurant was good. The location was excellent a 10 minute walk to the wharf. Close to the monuments. Another area that I feel that can be worked on a little is the valet parking. I'm accustomed to pulling up to a valet parking stea, and someone opening up the door to greet me, and get my key, but at this hotel I sat in the car and if you sat there they would never come open up the door. However when it was time for their tip they ran like you wouldn't believe to help. My room had the view of the Potomac, it was beautiful. Nice amenities. Fire pits, indoor pool, steam room, spa and gym. The only coffee machine in the room was the espresso my husband or I like expresso. That bathtub was to die for. Don't put bubbles in you will slip and slide. Just the plain water. It almost seemed filtered.
