Pros and Cons
All the staff were excellent, friendly, and helpful. The breakfast was great too, with lots of choices.** My room was a single room, and it was quite small. There wasn’t really anywhere to put anything; the bedside table and main vanity table had fake drawers, so you couldn’t store anything. There were only three plugs: two by the door and the other next to the mirror. If you wanted to use the kettle, you had to boil it on the floor. There were no plugs by the bed, so you couldn’t charge your phone at night. However, the bed and sheets were comfy. The bathroom provided shampoo, conditioner, and soap, but the extractor fan wasn’t working. It was a wet room with the toilet practically in the shower, so if you showered, everything in the room got wet, including the toilet seat and floor

Good location for transport options
When we arrived, we were informed we had an upgrade. Great. Went to the room and keys didn't work so went back to reception and they sorted it. Got into the room but it was clearly in use. Went back to reception and they had written the wrong number down! ( All the reception staff were super nice and helpful though). Finally made it to our room and it was extremely spacious. Location was perfect. Part of the old town and opposite the harbour. Ferry/ trains/ buses were all within 10 minute walking distance. Breakfast in the basement was nice. It had your usual food but also doughnuts and cookies! All in all, a pleasant stay.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and buffet breakfast was good with many choices. I was disappointed that being a 4 star hotel, there was no closet, no drawers, no safe and no plugged in socket in bathroom.

Perfect Getaway Hotel
I had a great visit. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. There was snacks and coffee/tea in the waiting room. I had to search some for my room, but it was quaint and I slept great! Breakfast was also amazing! I can't wait to go back and stay at the Hotel Gamla again!

Great Location in Stockholm
We stayed for 1 night at Hotel Gamla Stan in Stockholm. The location of the hotel is perfect for Old Town explorations. The staff were wonderful. They even prepared a bag of breakfast foods for us since our flight was very early. The room however had very limited amenities. No closet or drawers. The bathroom was tiny, no room for bathroom supplies. No door on the shower. It was adequate for an overnight stay. Perhaps there are better rooms in the hotel.

Just like the reviews, excellent location, great breakfast, hot because too loud outside to keep windows open, musty smell in the room. All staff friendly. An old hotel, took a night to get used to! A few things lacking, no glasses in the room, no shower gel in the shower. Appreciated the coffee and water in the lobby.

If you aren't one who likes old, retrofitted properties then this one is not for you. We loved it's charm and quirkiness as well as being located in Old Town (Gamla Stan). The staff was great and within 100 feet you are in the heart of Old Town with many dining options.

Solo trip to Sweden
Firat time in Scandinavia. This hotel is in Gamla Stan, which is the heart of Stockholm. Great location and great staff. It’s a budget hotel but don’t let that deter you from staying here. Breakfast buffet is good with a lot of options. Gym is in the basement, feels somewhat like a dungeon. I would stay here again, considering the location alone is worth it.

This quirky hotel has an excellent location. The breakfast is fantastic and the staff is very nice. The hotel itself is very old with LOTS of stairs. There were no rooms offered that could be reached without lugging bags up stairs. We had two rooms that were very different. Be prepared for a shower in the bathroom with no curtain or divider. However, one room had skylights. Overall, our stay was good but the location and breakfast made this a good choice for a visit to Stockholm.
