Beautiful suite in Hakodate
Beautiful two story suite, but the best part was the cuisine. The private Onsen was very nice as well. The staff were friendly, helpful and thoroughly professional.

There isn’t much to do around the area. During check in, staff never give full and clear information, was waken up by the stuffiness, apparently the bedroom AC wasn’t on, only the central air-condition was on. Only found out hours later. Had a terrible rest. Woke up by a false fire alarm after an hour sleep from the air condition chaos. Overall, the food, the room was perfect.

We had a great welcome greeting. They made us feel welcomed and provided us a clean room. The food was substantial and delicious. They gave us an option for western food which was a nice option after eating a lot of seafood throughout our trip. They were very accommodating and the service was great. We would recommend this hotel to others.

Our 3-night stay at Bourou Noguchi was superb. The western breakfast was one of our favorite ryokan breakfasts, and the dinner, bath, and room all exceeded expectations. Great all around, we'll certainly be back.

The room was above all I could have imagined, with its own entryway and complete living room. I had a room without an onsen. The public onsen was okay, but not really spectacular. If you like a city view, it's good. From the women's onsen, the airport runway is visible and the flight take off times listed, so if you'd like to see planes take off, it's nice. My regret is not reserving a dinner or breakfast. Beware, you can't easily reserve last minute, so do it when you make your initial reservation or call them. I think they do have some pretty spectacular meal options in a lovely environment, but you must have a reservation in advance to experience it.

Some minor improvements needed but great stay
Great hotel. The serene ground and facilities provided a relaxing atmosphere. The staff level is a bit sparse though. Also English level could be better given its Michelin review. The hotspring is 24 hours which offers convenience but I wish they close for at least 1 hour per day to clean. 90% of the food are amazing are impressive. The main proteins when cooked in western style tends to be on the over-cooked front.

A Great Modern-Wa Onsen Ryokan
After staying at dozens of onsen ryokans, this one has to be one one of the best. First of all, upon checking in, the service was flawless. It is common that we are served with complimentary tea upon check-in but also be served with dango rice cake from the famous Gingetsu shop was exceptional. The lobby has water running throughout almost like mini-Venice but with quiet zen-like atmosphere. You feel tranquil just sitting there. We opted for dinner & breakfast plan and I can tell you that it is worth every penny. You are seated in private room with privacy where you can see the bamboo trees planted in the middle. There is not enough space to describe the meals but they utilize local ingredients. The vegetables and rice have natural sweetness to it and the sashimi was fresh as they come. The desserts made from Hokkaido's famous milk have kind-sweetness and depth of taste. We had a small room but it was more than enough for two with a high end massage chair in-room. Although the hot-spring water quality was nothing to write home about, the public hot-spring on the top floor has amazing view of the Hakodate city and the Tsugaru Peninsula. If you are looking for contemporary-"wa" twist to the Onsen Ryokan with all the modern amenities, this is the hotel for you.
