Never having been to Lima, I was kind of shooting in the dark about this reservation. We opted to use the hotel shuttle service to be picked up at the airport US25. Right away the driver made me very nervous, he didn't speak to us at all and seemed very strange. He kept scratching and moving around, he was just very off. I could tell he was making me and all of my friends nervous, being picked up and taken to the Central District at midnight. He also took a very strange route, but we did eventually get there. Much more $$ than just taking a cab for 50 soles (versus like 82), so you be the judge.
Check in was easy and fine. We had 4 people in one room, so it's kind of like a dorm/hostal. It's cheap tho, so what I expected. Extra blankets in the room which were appreciated. The rooms do not have a lot of insulation, so it's noisy. Use ear plugs. The water does get very hot for shower and water pressure is nice. No shampoo or body wash. Wifi was VERY spotty and for a lot of the stay we had to go into the hallway or lobby to get on another network. Annoying. Confusing breakfast - had to go downstairs and order at the little store and then eat in the cafe - they tried to make me pay until I reminded them it was included with what I paid. The lady called the front desk to confirm that I wasn't lying. And then we had to sort out that we had 4 people, so 4 free breakfasts.
Otherwise nice staff. They messed up our 1am taxi reservation to get back to airport.
