This hotel is convenient for visiting the city centre, cathedral and shops. My only criticism is that we were not forewarned about off site chargeable parking. This is not clear on the Hotel.com website. Staff and facilities at the hotel can't be faulted.

Charming
The Chapter House is an older but charming hotel. The in house restaurant is very popular in the area, consequently you’ll need to make a reservation for dinner. Our room was comfortable and clean with all the expected amenities. The adjoining bathroom was very large and newly renovated.

Characterful old building, with modern facilities and excellent staff.
Dinner was great - especially steak and South African specials - best to book a table.

Good hotel right in the centre. Food good with South African dishes really different. Only drawback is the very old building so not very practical - but adds to charm!

We loved the bathroom: large bath and separate shower with good quality toiletries. Separate loo. Subtle lighting to see the way to the bathroom at night.
The only small criticism is the Sunday breakfast ran out of items that were not replenished and staff although very polite were a little over-stretched.

Great atmosphere and we appreciated the age of the buildings and loved the uneven floors and ceilings. Unfortunately it was extremely hot in our room with limited airflow options. Also internet didn’t work. Great location

The historical dimension is lovely, the location is first-rate, the room was satisfactory, the best thing was the breakfast. No place for anyone with mobility issues!
