Chalten Suites was the best hotel option in El Chalten, and I’d definitely stay there again. The staff were excellent, friendly, and helpful - especially Tamara and Lautaro, who were absolutely delightful and thoughtful. All front desk staff spoke English, which was nice.
The hotel is located on the main thoroughfare, but it had good soundproofing from outside noise. Lots of small grocery stores, restaurants, and bars are within an easy walk of hotel.
I stayed in Room 312 - which is a double room with a balcony. It had great views of Mount Fitz Roy, and it is probably the quietest room in the hotel. Room 312 also had easy access to the breakfast buffet (down the hall). Temperatures were comfortable in the room. There was occasional noise from the hall and the next room, but I slept fine - and I’m a light sleeper. Good wind-proofing from the intense winds (no problems with wind whistling through windows - other hotels have reviews indicating issues with this).
The WiFi was slow. However, it was slow everywhere in El Chalten, so I think it just can’t be helped in such a remote area.
The complementary breakfast was nice.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to El Chalten. And, you will adore Tamara and Lautaro - trust me. :)
