A Perfect Family Overnight at Sea Gate, Vieques
Our family had an amazing spring break overnight at Sea Gate in Vieques, Puerto Rico, and I highly recommend it! From the start, owner Kelly was incredibly communicative, making sure everything was set up perfectly for our arrival and offering great local tips. The staff was warm and welcoming, always eager to assist with any requests, which made us feel truly at home. The hotel was incredibly accommodating, offering spacious rooms and thoughtful amenities that made our stay so relaxing, especially with young kids. The peaceful atmosphere and prime location close to amenities and ferry terminal made it the perfect family base.

I loved the 'Captain Quarters' of this hotel. Beautiful view from balcony. Kelly was a great host. Very helpful with taxi, and local info. I would stay here again.

Séjour agréable
Nous avons séjourné à l’hôtel Seagate à Vieques et notre expérience a été globalement positive. Le personnel s’est montré accueillant, attentif et toujours prêt à aider, ce qui a grandement contribué à notre confort. Notre chambre était bien équipée, bien que située dans les bâtiments à l’extrémité de l’hôtel. Un petit bémol : les chambres gagneraient à être rafraîchies, car la nôtre semblait un peu datée et présentait une certaine humidité – peut-être en raison de la pluie que nous avons eu sur une journée. Enfin, l’hôtel se trouve un peu à l’écart de la ville, il est donc conseillé d’avoir un moyen de transport ou de très bonnes jambes pour se déplacer.

Very personable stay
Both of the owners greeted us and were vwry friendly and welcoming. It was nice to stay at a hotel with a personable experience. Penny greeted us with a map and drew directions and gave recommendations for all of the things! Kelly also texted a few days before the stay smd recommended scheduling taxi rides beforehand which was amazing advice amd couldnt recommend enough! The accomodations for night was great and felt safe and comfortable. It was also cool to see wild iguana on the property and also they have horses and chickens. No need for a wakeup call, the roosters have you covered! Lol.

A great and unforgettable stay!
It was such an amazing experience for us to stay at this hotel. hosts were super friendly and helpful and we enjoy the private 90 min. horse back riding so much - went through local streets unto horse trails and some riding by a breath taking beach! Love it! the room setup is old fashioned but we loved the side room with a single bed then main master room with king size bed and a HUGE balcony with great views!! we watched sunset from balcony & from our bed! only downside was i couldn't get much sleep at night due to roosters don't want to take a break singing haha

Dip into paradise
We had a fantastic 2 night stay in paradise at the Sea Gate Hotel and would highly recommend to others. We were met on arrival by Kelly who showed us around and gave us a comprehensive overview of the area. The bedroom was very comfortable with fab A/C, the shower was deliciously hot, the kitchen was well equipped - cooker fridge freezer & microwave. We had a fabulous view and enjoyed listening to the frogs and roosters. Continental breakfast was served daily which was a welcome start to the day. We would love to return someday. Thanks!

Super accommodating, attentive and great vibe
I had a very pleasant stay at Seagate. They send you information about the check-in process and activities as well as transportation. The check-in was easy and Kelly makes sure you know the ins and outs of the island. The hotel is clean and has everything you need! I personally loved the view. If I come back to Vieques I’ll be staying here again. Side note, make sure you schedule transportation ahead of time.

I loved my stay here & would definitely recommend! The location was good as it's close to the town, but not right in the town, it's perched further up which means it is very quiet and peaceful and also offers lovely views. The property itself is set up in a way that still gives you privacy as the rooms are split across different areas / levels and it is surrounded by gardens and a few animals which is a big plus if you are an animal lover like me! I only met with one of the hosts (Penny) and she was great, very very helpful as I travelled here solo without any actual plans and did not want to rent a car or buggy either so she helped guide me on what to do and provided a long list of contacts for transport around the island. The rooms themselves were very well equipped with anything you may need! Another thing worth mentioning is that there are horses which live beside the property, so there is also the option to book a horse ride from there which I did, and it was a lovely and pleasant experience!

Vieques is rustic, which is part of its charm, and the Sea Gate Hotel fits the vibe of the island. It is a lovely, family-run inn about a 15-minute walk downhill to Isabell II, but I wouldn't attempt to walk it uphill in the heat or at night. The rooms are outdated, but the bed was comfortable and the price was right. The breakfast is adequate. Penny and Kelly are very service-oriented, and they seem to know everyone on the island and run a horse sanctuary on the property.

Sweet cottage stay
We stayed in their cottage and enjoyed a very brief stay. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. We recommend staying here, particularly given its proximity to downtown. Pros: -Clean rooms and kitchen with supplies -Friendly staff -Horses on the property -Little pool area for the littles -Hoses/showers to rinse off from excursions (so helpful!) Happy to have supported a family-owned hotel! We hope to return in the near future.

A 5-star relaxing getaway
What a fantastic find! Next time we come to Vieques, I would love to stay here a whole week and make this my HQ. Such a relaxing spot with a veranda overlooking the ocean. Swing in the hammock and nap or read, or just sit on a chair and enjoy the cool breeze and the view. The room we had was on the second floor and was spacious and clean. The bed was soft and comfortable. Penny was full of good advice about restaurants and snorkeling spots. Definitely recommend this place with 5+ stars!

Nice quaint place
I enjoyed my stay here. Penny and Kelley communicated very well and were quite helpful. It is a bit of a walk from town, maybe 15 minutes, but not bad. The only real challenge was the roosters next door not having proper timing.

Would recommend
Kelly was super on top of her communication. She was with me until I checked in when I had so many issues getting to the island. She was there for me with other alternatives and suggestions. When I got to check in, I got to speak to Penny, who was equally super sweet. Was very helpful during check in letting us know where everything was even though we checked in so late. We had decided to walk there from the ferry terminal and that last stretch to get to the hotel is not for the faint-hearted, which Kelly did warn about but we made it!!
