Interesting and unique city with some important cultural sites. While the hiking can be strenuous, the views of the city from the castle are worth the trip, and there are many fascinating nooks and crannies in the town itself.

Excellent
Berat has everything you need with out being overly crowded and expensive. The views are stunning from both the castle and the river. We would like to come back with our family

Small town vibe, pretty and well maintained. Stray dogs are quite loud at night - bring your earplugs
"The hotel is very charming. The room was comfy, but also had an old time feel (antique wardrobe, etc.). The staff helped us with ideas of things to do in the area. "
"Fantastic hotel with the kindest staff. The location was perfect. The room is clean and the windows were huge!
We were awoken to birds chirping in the morning and were surprised to learn they were pet birds kept in cages below our window.
Great hotel with easy parking, easy walking distance to the castle.
Breakfast is great too.

"If you want to be in the heart of Berat, then this is your spot. It is the finest hotel in the city. It is a very large hotel with superior amenities. If you are looking for quaint little mom and pop type accommodation, then you will want to go a different direction. You can walk to most all attractions Berat has to offer from this location. "
"We had a great time at Te Gjyshi. Located right by the fort and owned by the restaurant, with the same name, that has a long history of serving guests in Berat. The place was newly renovated and the views were better than shown in the pictures.
Restaurant served delicious Albanian cuisine and you received a discount for being a hotel guest. For breakfast you didnt get a choice to choose qhat you would like but what they served was again delicious.
We especially loved how close we were to the fortress, and the old town was a short distance down hill. Going uphill after a day of exploring is a bit of a work out but manageable.
Overall, loved our stay here and would definitely come back. "
"We loved this property - the staff is attentive, breakfast was rich and you can also have breakfast in the nice garden, they have free parking. We booked a double room and the reception guy showed us the newly renovated section of the hotel which was recently built he said. The room had a huge and modern bathroom, the room was spacious and spotless.
It is a great hotel and would definitely stay again.
The only disadvantage was there were mosquitos in the rooms so make sure you bring a mosquito device. "
