Absolutely beautiful hotel but there are some improvements to be made. Mostly cleanliness. Whilst our room was clean, there were obvious areas that have been missed. Thick dust buildup on the TV, shower head, fridge was thick with ice and an almost empty toilet roll left in the bathroom which isn’t exactly tidy or ideal. We had light switches that did nothing and a random dial in the bathroom which seemed to serve no purpose as well as a broken light which made seeing in the mirror a bit tricky. The floor lamp was broken and the USB sockets on my side of the bed didn’t work. The floors are hardwood and you can hear your neighbours exceptionally clearly if they are wearing heels and there was building work going on somewhere which hotel staff were aware of but it would have been nice if we were warned as we were really hoping to have a quiet lie in. Breakfast is alright, edible but nothing to write home about and it would have been fantastic if we were provided with salt and pepper with the room service breakfast (there was no option on the order menu). It’s an ideal space and could be perfect. The parking was a joke, however, though I’m sure the hotel aren’t entirely responsible. There should be a deal with ECC to allow hotel guests to get some discount in the shopping centre car park. £15 a day is astronomical when you also have to walk 5-10 minutes.
