I wanted to love it.
PROS: The common areas have been updated and are very nice. The Restaurant as well. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Beds were very comfortable.Location and parking were excellent. Room was spacious and clean. CONS: Elevator not yet working. The room had an odor and had a wrinkled faded green rug with blonde furniture and paintings from the 80s. The rooms need desperately to be redone like the rest of the place. No water pressure at all in the shower. OLD and stained toilet seat.Chairs were old and I sank in them. Restaurant not open for breakfast or on Sundays and there was no continental breakfast offered.

6/10 Good

I genuinely appreciate that the folks are trying to save this old hotel, but the facilities are just so dated and obsolete that it’s a labor of love at this point as opposed to a 3 or 4 star hotel. The prices within the on-site restaurant, “Rodney’s”, are absolutely absurd for the level and quality of the food, and for that area. I paid less for a formal filet mignon dinner at the Hyatt in the Dallas, TX Airport than I did for a lobster roll sandwich at Rodney’s? I wish them the very best, but for the price, I will likely go back to staying at the Hampton Inn. A hotel really needs elevator banks and key cards in this day and age. For these prices, patrons shouldn’t have to be dragging luggage up and down 3 stories of stairs, with old 1980’s room keys.

A great hotel. One inconvenience, the elevator was not working. Otherwise, a clean comfortable room, a great hotel restaurant, reasonable rates. A downtown hotel in walking distance from stores and restaurants.

2/10 Poor

Elevator was broken had to climb up and down the stairs with luggage. The AC was broke in the first room so the moved us to another room. The room smelled like stale cigarettes, but the AC worked. The next day we were moved to another room and it was fine. We had booked a king bed and ended up with two queens. The hotel staff did their best to help.

2/10 Poor

I would have never booked this hotel if they would have listed that there elevator was broke. Walking up 3 flights of stairs with luggage wasn’t a good time. The air conditioning barely worked. The beds were so hard.
