Horrible Check-in Process
My wife and I booked this place online and were excited to stay there. The only confirmation email I received contained a Reservation ID and Property ID. No address, no instructions on how to get in. After arriving from the States, we needed to get an Uber to the place. I typed in Icon Building and it came up with Icon Luxury Apartments. Not having any other info, I accepted that as the building and luckily it was.
Upon arrival there, we approached the security guard and told him which unit we booked but that we didn't have any info on how to check-in or obtain a key. He explained he couldn't help us, but that we could check the mailbox for a key. No luck there. He then decides to take us up to the room. He knocked on the door and a gentleman came to the door. We thought he was the owner, but come to find out he just worked for the property management company. What a crazy, messed up process this was. My wife and I were on edge the first night, being in a foreign country, and not understanding what we just went through.
On top of this, there were non-functioning lights in the bedroom, and hot water issues. In the master bathroom, the shower turned on just fine, but wouldn't get hot. I cranked it up all the way and the water pressure all but ceased. The water just trickled out -- but it was hot. I turned the dial just enough until the water pressure came back, but it was cold at that point. We had to resort to showering in the guest bathroom. It had a similar water pressure issue, but we were able to make it work for a shower. Very inconvenienced to say the least.
Outside of those issues, it was a great place. Wonderful location, amazing views. Should be easy enough for the owner to fix the hot water issues and use a little more effective communication to guests on what the check-in process is. It’s two weeks later and I still can’t get over how uncomfortable that check-in process was.
