"We took a bigger attic room & this room is really big & stylish. Amazing amenities & great comfortable bed, although it may benefit from a fan (or portable cooler ac) assuming split system ac is not allowed. Currently the room relies on opening the window if the weather is hot, which may not work well for noise control. Also the bathroom can benefit from more storage space for shampoo bottles etc. FYI the town tolls their bell for a very long time (at least 6 minutes) every 6 hrs during the day, the earliest being 6am, & also shorter ones every hour from then on… with the windows open & the location being so close to the bells, be prepared to wake up at 6am daily."

"Amazing, atmospheric place. Beautifully laid out to keep the feel of a fortified manor. My only disappointment was the bed. My room had two singles pushed together, which is fairly normal in Germany. However these were two narrow wooden beds, with the frames higher than the mattress. Whilst the style was in keeping with the room, the actual sleeping space was limited, and I kept kicking the frame during the night. Mattress was comfortable though."

"Didn’t like the check-in process with no staff and available and having to use WhatsApp to communicate. Upon check-in our air conditioning unit was not working during a heat wave. We were told to wait it out. We waited eight hours and it never kicked in. We were offered another room, but it would only be available for a portion of our stay. After several hours we decided to call Expedia to book another hotel. Expedia called the owner of Toploft. The room he previously offered was now available for the duration of our entire trip plus it had functioning AC. At 11 PM we had to pack up our belongings and move across the street to another unit. Extremely inconvenient. If you’re a tourist, this isn’t the property for you because the area is a far distance from main tourist locations. "

"Hotel is in a perfect location, just walking distance from old town. Comfort double room is a spacious room and the breakfast is great. This is a good choice for a hotel in charming Dinkelsbuhl. Check in was a breeze, staff is friendly and restaurant options in the area are a lot!"
