Good overall with one caveat.

The hotel was clean, and the staff was friendly. Unfortunately, the room had a bit of a funk, and a mildew smell coming from the air-conditioning unit. It may have just been an issue with our room, and you can tell that the staff seems to be hard-working and keeps the hotel clean.

First impressions good, went down hill

We arrived late to the hotel after moving our daughters into their WCU apartment. Front staff was friendly and the front lobby looked nice, clean and smelled good. Once to our floor it was obvious it was an older hotel with a musty smell and creepy feeling hallways. We were supposed to have a 2 queen room and arrived to a king with pullout. They had no other rooms so we had to keep it. The couch did pullout, but the mattress was thin and covered in a ripped plastic wrap. There was no bedding for that bed. They did bring us up some after asking and were apologetic. The worst part is the room smelled like an old ashtray 😭 I could not unsmell it! It also wasn’t ideal that my son sounded like he was rustling around on a pool float all night. The bathroom was nice, room very mid and there was a stain that looked like cigarette ash on our bed. We were so tired so we slept, it worked, but we won’t be back.

Beds were extremely comfortable. Decorations were beautiful in the rooms. And that’s about it. Toilet clogged in our first room. No maintenance available at night. After 30 minutes of trying to plunge ourselves, we were switched to another room. That room had mold growing on the wall near the light fixture. We were moved to a third room and that toilet also had issues. It took no less than 3-4x to successfully flush. Power also went out around 2am during our 1 night stay. Breakfast was sparse so we went elsewhere. Location was convenient for our trip but that’s about it.

Stay Clear- Find a nicer place

Homeless people to welcome you as you pull up the drive, a woman loitering all over the lobby wearing next to nothing, bad spot. Just wanted to check in and go to bed and pull back the sheets and it looked like a hairy man rolls around and brushed his dang body hair into the bed. Was not cleaned. Absolutely aweful!

4th of July weekend

Nice location if you want to stay near Asheville but still have the Smokies nearby. We had a couple of issues with this stay, there was still hair all over the bathroom floor from the previous guests and there was (hopefully) chocolate or something still on one of the nightstands, so they obviously weren't too concerned with the cleaning aspect of our stay. Also, the girl working at the desk during the evenings was either on her phone or sitting in the lobby watching tv. Never looked at us or greeted us anytime we walked by. Went down to get towels, she never looked up from her phone. However, the girl checking us in was terrific, we arrived much earlier than normal check in and she was able to accommodate us, and the gentleman at checkout was super friendly as well. If they would do better on the cleaning this would have been a really great trip.

Hotel not for the working class

Bathroom had no shower curtain, found different types of hair in bathroom and room, one of pillows smelt like pet dog from previous visitors, family in room next to me allowed their kids to slam doors and run through hallway for most of evening. Hallway smelt of burning cigarettes and marijuana.

I'd stay again. Pros: Price, location, mostly clean, free breakfast, 4 pillows on each bed, comfy bed Cons: Had to get a bar of soap and a 4th towel from the front desk, one of the blankets had a stain, breakfast was very minimal, but they idid have a waffle maker

Went to two different rooms. Both had dog hair everywhere. First one had overwhelming smell of poop. Second room had a dirty toilet. Lobby was dirty as well. Shady characters in the parking lot and hotel.

The hotel was nice enough however they appear to be understaffed. Also, the rooms had adjoining doors which would be convenient for kids adjoining a parent's room. However, we had some rather noisy neighbors and they were loud late at night and loud early in the morning. The connecting door did a poor job of dulling their sounds. Otherwise, the beds were comfortable and the shower was clean and had good water strength.
