We had previously stayed at Nostos in 2019, and decided to book their Junior Suite for this trip to make it special. Unfortunately it wasn't quite as special as we had hoped. The check-in process wasn't what I would have expected for having booked their best room - we were given the keys and waved in the vague direction. We got to the room, which was spacious with a lovely big terrace and hot tub, but unfortunately there were no instructions on how to work it, offers to help with this, and it was pretty grubby. We had to clean it first before working out how to use it. The bathroom was showing signs of not having been cleaned very thoroughly - grime in the shampoo/shower gel stand, and everything looked a little worn. Unbeknownst to me, my partner intended on proposing the second day we arrived, and asked at reception if there was anything they were able to do to assist - flowers or such, and was given a firm 'no'. Again, considering the cost we spent on booking their best room, he was quite upset. We aren't usually extravagant people, so were hoping for a bit of luxury. I'm hoping all these niggles are due to Covid having been tough on the hotel, however I don't think we'll visit again, sadly.
