History in the Irish countryside
We treated our stay at Roundwood House as more of a destination than just a hotel. We enjoy historic houses and this beautiful country home is quite charming. Our hosts Hannah and Paddy set a relaxed tone and are available to meet your needs. We were encouraged to explore the buildings and the grounds and offered tea and snacks on the lovely lawns. Drinks were served by the fire in the living room before dinner. Dinner was outstanding as Paddy is an excellent chef. Conversation by the fire after dinner included Paddy and all of the guests. Our room was spacious and the bathroom adequate for a gracious vintage home. Breakfast was again outstanding.

Absolutely wonderful!
Absolutely wonderful! From the moment we drove up to the property, we felt welcomed by Hannah and Paddy. We stayed in a large beautiful room and pampered with hot tea, cocktails, a wonderful dinner and music. Our room was very comfortable and we were encouraged to walk the perimeter of the property which was lovely. Breakfast was fantastic. We would definitely stay again and again!

Great food
Shared the house with two other couples and a group of foyr couples and their children. The children were very well behaved, but their parents were very loud unpleasant.in compensatiob the food, wine and service was excellent

Do miss this!
Hannah and Paddy are amazing hosts. It was the perfect stay to finish a perfect 40th anniversary holiday! It is a beautiful place to stay with so much history and the chef’s (Paddy) cooking was an unexpected delight. Our hosts facilitated wonderful conversation in the drawing room among the guests. It was so much fun.

This is an old manor house with comfortable “shabby chic” decor, run by a lovely couple who really enjoy meeting their guests. The grounds are pleasant to explore with a nice perimeter walk through a rhododendron jungle, pastures, a raspberry patch and more. Friendly cats and other farm creatures wander about the garden. Dinner was a set menu, well imagined and presented, with a good wine list and cocktail options. The chef and the host are friends and also musicians so you may be treated to an after dinner song or two. Overall a pleasant experience.
