Character and Comfort
This is a fabulous property. A proper Japanese house with paper screens and tatami mats, but with a western main bed and a really exciting jacuzzi bath tub! The shrine next door is lovely, and although the immediate buildings are a bit industrial, the house is genuinely lovely to stay in. The bus route into the city is close by, and it's on the way to Miyajima.

Just follow the river
The stay was great. And the pocket wifi came as a surprise. A tip for finding the accoms is to follow the river from Kusatu street car station to the accoms.

A different experience
This temple--style building has interesting décor. The living room is made up like a little shrine with painted screens. The bathroom has lovely painting on the walls, although there is no shutter on the windows, so it doesn't feel very private.
Instructions left in the apartment detailed how to use some of the amenities (although in broken English), but did not explain where to find the washing machine (it's outside - I found it as I was leaving) and I could not find the remote that controlled the shutters.
The room had futon-style beds, although I used two mattresses as the floor was quite hard in the living room. The tatami room had a strange smell in the kitchen area and a lot of light and noise came through the kitchen ventilation which stopped me sleeping.
The bath and shower were both very nice. The whirlpool tub was not quite clean, but after a quick rinse, was very comfortable with a number of settings for the jets and lights. The tap on the tub had an automatic shut-off (you set it to a quantity and it turns off when it has used that much water. However, the room did get quite damp with the window closed. I did not use the bathroom balcony. The toilet was separate from the bathroom and had a sink built into the cistern activated when you flush. As there was no sink in the other bathroom, I brushed my teeth in the kitchen. The bathrooms were also a little cold, but the heated toilet seat took the edge off.
Overall, it was a nice place to stay.

Kein Hotel, freistehendes Haus ohne Personal
Schwer zu finden, am besten gibt man den Tempel von nebenan ein, Bus und Bahn ist ca 750m weg. Beim Haus war nix, kein Schild, gar niemand zum fragen. Wir haben angerufen und dann den Code für Schlüsselbox in jap.(!) zu kriegen. Das Haus ist ein Traum, japanisch. Deshalb würden wir es weiterempfehlen. Einziger Wehmutstropfen, die Heizung: das Haus wird nicht warm. Da muss man sich im wirlpool heiss baden.

Awesome Japanese style place to stay!!
If u would like to seek for a traditional Japan house to stay, this is an awesome choice for you. The place is very nice and tidy, especially the bathroom (big surprise for me). It is close to a large shopping mall which has large variety of restaurant, cafe. Highly recommended to all the visitors.

Quirky and comfortable.
Really enjoyable. Converted temple in obviously traditional Japanese style except the bathroom which has a huge hot tub! It is very clean and comfortable. I would not like to prepare more than a simple breakfast in the tiny kitchen. There is a major shopping centre nearby. Otherwise there are not many local services.

Enjoyable stay in amazing and unusual accomodation.Clean and tidy.Lovely shower room and hot tub.(although it could do with a bathroom curtain)Easy to find,quiet location with off road parking.Would happily recommend.

Parfait ! Logement incroyable, très bien situé
Logement tout confort, magnifiquement meublé, typiquement japonais. Très bien situé sur la ligne de tramway qui mène directement au mémorial et à Miyajima.
