Guest House Nishiki offers more privacy to guests than other hostels as individual rooms are available. The hosts, Yuki and Hajime, and their two adorable daughters made my stay in Chichibu a very unique one – staying at Nishiki will give you an opportunity to blend in with the locals.
There is no restaurant / convenience store near the guest house, but the hosts will offer to make you breakfast and dinner at a reasonable price (JPY1,000 for both dinner and breakfast). I would recommend dining with the hosts – that’s one of the ways to experience local Japanese culture.
A tip for navigation: if you are outside of Chichibu, set your final destination in GPS as ‘‘Mitsumineguchi Station’’ (or in Chinese characters: 三峰口駅). That is where the hosts will pick you up on your check-in date.
Yuki and Hajime are a lovely couple who has a passion for hospitality and share the love of the countryside in Japan. I highly recommend it and will definitely stay in Guest House Nishiki again next time I visit Chichibu.
